Acerca De We, The Surreal

-We, The Surreal is currently on a hiatus of an undermined length, with no knowledge if the band will get back together or not.- We, The Surreal started out in the Chicago suburb of Elmwood Park in early 2011 and was founded by Xack Brame, Scott Schaefer, Anthony Ofenloch, and Danny Forrest. Over the next month or so, Fabian Rangel joined to cover clean vocals, and Martin Demjan was added as a second guitarist. Over time, bassist Danny and the band decided it would be best to part ways, and they soon added Rocco Sannicandro to fill the bass position. By spring 2011, rough vocalist Anthony decided to switch genres and join another band from the area. For their first EP release, and their first few shows, guitarist Xack Brame took over the rough vocals. However, in time, Ryan Loree was added to take charge of screaming vocals. After playing many shows in areas such as Elk Grove, Berwyn, Roselle, and Chicago at many venues including Chicago's Congress Theater, the band decided to part ways with vocalist Ryan Loree. After playing their 13th show of that year, the band has decided to take a break from shows for a month or so to focus on writing, recording, and finding a new screaming vocalist. Around the same time, the second guitarist, Martin, parted ways. During the break, bassist Rocco quit and Robby DiDomenico was more then eager to take his place. Announced at the same time was the return of the founding vocalist, Anthony Ofenloch to take back rough vocals. After a few months back with the band, Anthony decided being in this band was something that didn't seem right and he departed in April of 2012 for good. With the band going at a slow pace due to the lack of members, Robby decided to quit playing bass for WTS as well. Eager to fill any spot of the band, Kevin Provencher picked up bass immediately and started playing for We, The Surreal. With that being said, a whole new energy has been brought back to WTS and they were back to booking shows. After Dakota Leyva filled in on guitar for countless shows for We, The Surreal, they decided it was best that he just join the band. WTS finally found their core lineup. A solid 5 piece. On October 20, 2012, "Karma Cashed In", WTS's debut full length was released. Coming close to 30 shows at the end of 2012, WTS hopes to double that number next year, including going on their first tour. We, The Surreal is currently playing shows almost every weekend as well as recording a new EP with "B-Side" songs that they've ben wanting to release. Stay tuned! Towards the end of March 2013, the band started to realize that they were growing up and had to do "real life things." The band concluded that since Xack would be moving to Seattle at the end of April, Scott leave for higher studies at a university campus away from their hometown and the busy lives of the other members would cause this band to not work out exactly how they would like. They made a collective decision to make 6-8 final shows at their favorite Illinois venue. We, The Surreal's last show took place on April 20th, 2013. tl;dr We, The Surreal has been a band for almost 2 years, has gone through a million member changes, put out an EP, played a ton of shows, started to write a full length, lost a million more members, but now they have a solid line up and are back in action. We have a full length called "Karma Cashed In" and a couple other singles to download for free. They are on "hiatus" now. *INACTIVE* Download all of our songs for free at: www.wethesurreal.bandcamp.com We will continue on...
