Lo que dicen los fans
I definitely felt the energy & effort from the band members, but the venue seemed to lack the rib-cage-rattling subwoofer power a Death Grips show really -needs- to make the experience of seeing them live reach its absolute best. The lighting effects were also rather subpar, with only a stage covered in vivid red that strobed every now then to black, (AKA red lights turned off momentarily,) for damn near every single song they played. Just red. An overwhelming yet underwhelming sea of red, with no cool streaks or lasers or color switch-ups… Just a whole stage’s worth of red party bulbs being remotely switched on & off throughout the set. Security was also extremely lax; so much so in fact that I have photos of drunk/inebriated guys climbing the metal scaffolding pillar located on the middle outside edge of the main standing room area in front of the stage. Both men dangled from up by the ceiling precariously, never being forced or even asked to get back down to safety by anyone for well over 15 minutes. Eventually, they just got tired and climbed down on their own, as if it was perfectly safe & acceptable behavior rather than a huge liability. The venue could definitely use some serious work to make shows more fulfilling/interesting/organized/safe. (I will admit, however, that I’m unaware if Death Grips was responsible for the stage lighting or if the venue was. I’ve assumed the venue is at fault for this, but I could be wrong about that. If so, I’m sorry for assuming it was decided by Southside Ballroom staff.) I’m docking one star because of the venue being an overall disappointment in key ways, yet I’m giving out 4 stars to Death Grips for throwing down despite the venue’s sadly ho-hum conditions. ❤︎

Amazing show, absolutely surreal and thrilling. Death Grips brought an awesome energy, great live sound and a great crowd. The Orlando crowd were fun and rowdy but respectful! The venue was good but the security kept trying to break up the organised and tame moshing. It was annoying but ultimately harmless and no one got thrown out.

The boys were awesome! It was a really great experience overall. The energy of the crowd really helped make the show enjoyable with how chaotic both the fans and the band were.
The biggest complaints of the night all came from the venue. It was pouring rain when the doors were supposed to open, and they let everyone in late after we had already been standing outside with no cover and gotten completely soaked. After the very first wave they started kicking people out for moshing or going even slightly hard, which was total BS considering the kind of group this is. There were also trash cans and wet floor signs left in the middle of the crowd that people kept getting pushed into. Definitely not the right kind of venue for a band of this nature.
