Misty Coast

Misty Coast is the dream-pop child of Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust, known from Norwegian noise-masters The Megaphonic Thrift. After a decade on the road with amps turned up to 11, tours with indie giants like Dinosaur Jr and Stephen Malkmus, and a Norwegian Grammy on the shelf, Frøkedal and Myklebust decided to tweak the formula and flip things on its head. This time, the beauty wouldn’t be hidden beneath a curtain of noise — the pop melodies would be allowed to stretch out and bask on top of the blanket. Now they’re ready with their new studio album, Always Sun, out April 26th on the duo’s new record label, Melodaze Records.

The first single from the album is the title track, “Always Sun,” out December 16th.

Frøkedal and Myklebust describe it this way:
“The song is a kind of hopeful anthem: when everything goes to hell, at least you still have your dreams, right?”

Misty Coast continues to make pop music that pushes the limits as far as they’ll go, and “Always Sun” gives us sharp corners and pointed elbows, but yet flows forward through a galaxy filled with catchy melodies and soft harmonies.
