Acerca De Helder
Helder Deploige (°1977, Ghent B) has been working as a self-taught actor, composer, musician and producer with e.g. Kommil Foo and Wouter Deprez. He played guitar in bands like Sukilove and Flip Kowlier, as well as 5-string banjo and mandolin in Chitlin' Fooks, a country roots project feat. bettie serveerts Carol van Dyk.
In 2003 Helder recorded his debut album "The king lost his crown". Produced in his bedroom, the record became a compilation of honest, rootsy pop music. Taking care of the entire recording process, Helder played every single instrument. Additional vocals by a.o. Mich Walschaerts (Kommil Foo), Trixie Whitley (Chris Whitley), Pascal Deweze (Metal Molly).
May 2006 Helder released his second solo full album: "The ceiling is not the sky". A microphone is his hand, Helder went to New York and Morocco. Again, he plays all the instruments himself, but yet the album features Steven De bruyn (Rhythm Junks), Trixie Whitley (Chris Whitley) and Mariken Boussemaere (Kadril).
On stage Helder plays dobro and 5-string banjo together with Pieter Van Buyten (Flip Kowlier) on double bass, Gino Geudens (bettie serveert) on drums and Antoon Offeciers (Sukilove) on keyboards.
