Acerca De Joe Lally
Joe Lally
Joe Lally is the bass player for the post-punk band Fugazi. He is one of the most melodic bass players in hardcore punk movement, using mostly Music Man or Fender Jazz basses and a pick. He has also contributed occasional lyrics and vocals to Fugazi songs. He has worked with John Frusciante and Josh Klinghoffer on the album Automatic Writing as the group Ataxia. In early 2002, Lally joined ex-Frodus members Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher on a project originally called The Black Sea, which would change its name to Decahedron and release an EP and an album before Lally left the band.
As of January 2006, Mr. Lally is currently playing solo shows on bass with slight laptop accompaniment in various college towns. The songs appear to be originals and have a socio-political bent.
Lally's new solo album, There to Here, features Jerry Busher, Ian MacKaye, Amy Farina, Guy Picciotto, and many others of the DC music scene.
Joe Lally also runs the Fugazi Live series website - www.fugaziliveseries.com
