I saw her at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London when she did her Pirates concert, and it was great to see her at a smaller venue. She covered the songs I love, but her voice was strained so left the stage after about 1hr 5minutes. I was left wanting a few more songs, but it was a treat to have her visit Cardiff.

Exquisite! Must be the eighth time we've seen her over maybe 30 years and she just gets better.... second time at the Barbican and the sound and staging were brilliant! The Duchess of Coolsville delivered some gorgeous early favourites from her extensive back catalogue.... as cool as ever!

A magical evening. Rickie was in great voice, the band was superb (it was the bass player’s first night!!!!) and the non-set list hit the spot. First time at the Wallis—a strange venue for such a truly strange (in the best way!!) artist, but it all worked.

I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to see Ricki live. I have been a fan of hers since her first album came out in 1979. I got married around the time Pirates came out and we played most of that album at our wedding. She is a genuine beautiful soul and as an audience member I just felt so happy being there and enjoying the show. Sometimes at a show, it's the songs that you don't know that really get to you and that was the case here. She played Chuckie and Lucky Guy and Weasel but the best songs were others. Her band is amazing and very eclectic in that the percussionist played the xylophone and there was a violin and an accordion and they were all perfect. PERFECT! Ricki seemed to have a cold but her voice was in fine form and she sounded as emotive as she did 45 years ago. She was engaging as a storyteller and her guitar playing is great. On a side note, there was a guy that was sitting in front of us and he told me he co-wrote weasel and company from her first album so that was super cool. I did not get a chance to talk further with him because he moved his seat to the 3rd row. The venue is amazing and the sound was so good you could hear every word. I have seen many many shows and this one ranks up there with the best so thank you Ricki of all that you give. Please come back to LA soon.

Rickie displays the fierceness of a majestic Joshua tree and the tender beauty of an orchid. One gets the feeling that she could just as easily slash you with that switchblade that glints in her song, We Belong Together, as disarm you with the song’s aching despair. Though her physical appearance has been appropriately weathered by age, like so many of her fans, her infectious smile lit up the theater all on it’s own. She juxtaposed bawdy humor with self-deprecating wit and honesty. Though her voice lacks the full range and fluidity of her youth, she compensates by adjusting both tempo and phrasing of her songs, highlighting the poetic richness of her lyrics and the emotional power of her melodies. Sadly, she has been cast to the sidelines of popular culture, that same culture that has infected artistic institutions such as the Rock-n-Roll HoF, which had the audacity to induct Cindy Lauper this year while once again snubbing RLJ. If the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts ever considered bestowing its honor to Rickie in the past, the chances that it could happen in the future are greatly diminished now that our current President has commandeered its board. Fans of the breathtaking music of RLJ know that she has been hurt by this callous treatment by so many of her so-called artistic peers. Her fans also know unequivocally that she is representative of the finest artistic expression in music that our great nation has produced. She is a diamond roughened by a chaotic, hardscrabble childhood and a reckless, self-indulgent young-adulthood, but Rickie Lee Jones is a diamond nonetheless!

Sadly, it appears the set was abbreviated considerably as Ms. Jones was battling a severe cold. Earlier dates on this tour seemed to have as many as twice the songs. A piano was setup on stage, but never used. But, for what she did perform, it was excellent and it was a pleasure to hear her perform live. I'm glad to say that her voice still sounds like it did on Pirates and Magazine. Many performers from my younger years can't say that (though she doesn't quite go back THAT far). Her accompanying percussionist/xylophonist (is that the word?) was awesome. Bottom line . . . sad for the abbreviated set, but I prefer that to having her cancel. I'd go see her again if the opportunity arises. Hope she's quickly on the mend.

The piano sounded absolutely horrible, as if it was in another room. The guitar was out of tune. But none of that matters when Lee Jones was in such a good mood and sung some of her best songs. Absolutely wonderful.

We Love Ricky Lee! The concert was so personal and the Venue The Boulder Theatre was the perfect venue for her performance. We felt like we were at a big party that Ricky Lee was throwing and we were all Guests at her place and she came out at a point to entertain us at her house. She's a Treasure, so genuine. Her interpretation of the poetry in her songs is uniquely her own. Powerful and Touching. We have made love to Ricky Lee more than any other music in our 37 years of Marriage. Just fantastic. Rickie can still hit all of the notes. She spends a lot of time chatting and bantering, making wry remarks. Great said list, which she clearly was deciding somewhat on the fly. Her percussionist whose name I cannot remember, is also fantastic. Full percussion set and vibraphone. Rickie did a bunch of songs with her acoustic guitar and several beautiful renditions on the piano. At one point someone in the audience reminded her that the day of this show was the 45th anniversary of the day her first record dropped. She clearly had not really known that. It took her a full 30 seconds to recover because she was so struck with emotion. It was so sweet. Just a good person making great music. FYI The Tarkington in Indianapolis is a nice little 500 seat venue with an attached, free (!) parking garage with elevator access to the venue itself.

The next night she played Prospect Park's Celebrate Brooklyn outdoor show pending a storm. No storm, but she was electric, and what a band !!! Old songs, new songs, what a stylist she is. She gets it from her vaudvillian grandfather Peg Leg Jones, who taught her those old songs when she was yay high, and she learned them well. Great Show !!!!!

Rickie Lee was amazing. I felt like she was singing directly to me. Threw in a few songs from earlier albums which I loved but would have been satisfied with the songs from the new record. Her voice was so crisp and pure. It was just what I needed. Great venue too.

Rickie Lee Jones was her charming and honest self. She can be quite funny. Her performance was real good. Her singing has as much expression as always. She played a mix of old and new with the mix heavily weighed to her new material. Her version of the standards she chose was refreshing as she made the songs her own. I would have liked a few more songs, but on the other hand I was ready to get out of there due to the uncomfortable seating. The venue on the other hand was miserable. Why her management team selected that venue is a mystery to me. City Winery lost a lot of customers resulting from the overly crowded conditions.

I enjoyed every second of RLJ's live-streamed show from Birdland last evening. Her band members each were exquisite on their own, and cohesive as a band, and Rickie Lee's choice of standards as well as self-authored tunes was rich with emotion. Her voice is remarkable, and the timing and arrangements were mesmerizing. I have pre-ordered her new album. Thank you for the perfect sound mix and clean broadcast.

I was a beret wearing jazz influenced hitch hiking hippie girl in Hermosa beach before I heard Rickie Lee and when I heard her…. Well , she was playing music that spoke to me like no other songwriter. I kept wearing my beret and one night at the Brandywine in Santa Monica a whole table of people stared at me. Finally one of them walked over and said “we thought you were out old friend Rickie Lee”. That was a compliment for sure. But it took me til my 40s to front a jazz band and I have yet to really write a song. Rickie on the other hand is a true poet and songwriter. Her show at the winery in Napa was satisfying . Lovely warm evening , front row outdoors at bistro tables in the grass . Somehow intimate. She said the first set in the heat of the day almost killed her. I relished the songs as the sun went down. Her great percussionist had second duty selling her Tshirts between shows. That must feel odd to have your band mates selling your merch. It’s not the glory days I guess but Rickie is performing well at what age? 68? My boyfriend who didn’t know her music as well said “ I feel honored” to have witnessed this. Having started the journey of her very poignant prose of a memoir, I feel so much deeper understanding and connection to her music. Rickie Lee, you inspire me to no end. Thank you - Thank you. I know I’m just one of a million fans in life’s musical sea but I imagine sitting around with you and a few other musicians playing, singing, and sipping wine into the wee hours. It was just great. Rickie Lee and I go back a long way - - you know, being of similar ages, me being the mind blown listener of her music as she presented it over the years. Being in the audience with her music, within her mature distillation -playing that guitar so cunningly and the piano, sublimely.
