Acerca De Feinberg Brothers

Rourke Feinberg

Rourke developed a love for bluegrass music early on in life. He started playing the fiddle at the age of four and has studied classical violin with Hartford Symphony violinist, Song-A Cho. He has developed into one of the most solid and tasteful bluegrass fiddlers around and has been heavily influenced by master bluegrass fiddlers Kenny Baker and Benny Martin. Rourke also plays the mandolin and was hired to do so with Straight Drive at the age of fourteen. Singing lead and baritone parts with the band; Rourke is a big part of the driving force in the brothers’ vocal duets and family trios.

Patrick Feinberg

Patrick, as a very young child, demonstrated that he had an amazing ear for music. By the age of five, not only could he sing lead parts, but he could sing tenor and high baritone parts in vocal duets and trios as well. Patrick has become a vocal powerhouse and exhibits musical maturity beyond his years. In addition to his soulful singing, he is a top-notch mandolin, guitar, and fiddle player. Along with playing mostly mandolin in the band, Patrick also plays lead guitar and a twin fiddle part on a song or two each show.

Ronnie Feinberg

Guitarist Ronnie Feinberg has played the bluegrass fiddle for many years, performing as a member of the Fox Family, Miller’s Crossing, and McGill’s band: Straight Drive. In addition to guest appearances on the fiddle with Bill Monroe, Patsy Montana, The Lewis Family, Mac Wiseman and Rose Maddox, Ronnie has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, and the Wheeling Jamboree. He is the father of band members Rourke and Patrick Feinberg, and takes great pride in their musical accomplishments. Ronnie plays guitar and sings harmony parts with the band, but can still be heard playing fiddle with regional bands and occasionally will fiddle one with the Feinberg Brothers.

Terry McGill

Terry McGill is one of the most respected, talented banjo players in the Northeast and has released two recordings for Cabinwood Music. He has been highlighted in Banjo Newsletter and has authored a book of banjo tunes played in alternate tunings for Mel Bay Publications. Terry’s 2001 solo recording “Straight Drive” has received airplay nationwide. He has played and recorded with many bands including Travers Chandler and Avery County, Miller’s Crossing, The Dixie Bee Liners, and The Old Time Singers. Terry has appeared at many bluegrass festivals, events, and radio stations including Carnegie Hall in New York City, The Wheeling Jamboree in Wheeling WV, and Ralph Stanley’s Hills of Home Festival in McClure VA.

Peter Elegant

Peter Elegant, joining in July 2013, is the newest member of the band, providing a solid foundation playing the acoustic bass. Starting with the group Straight Ahead in the late 1970’s, Peter has consistently been a part of the bluegrass scene playing banjo, fiddle, sock rhythm guitar, bass, as well as singing vocal parts. Pete has played with Karl Shifflet, John Herald, Big Appalachia, and continues to appear with the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band.
