Coen Janssen

I started playing piano at the local music school at the age of 8. After getting all degrees and finishing high-school I got admitted to the Conservatory in Tilburg (NL) to study classical piano. Halfway during that study I decided to change my musical direction and switched to the Conservatory of Rotterdam (NL) to study pop-music. I graduated in 2007. In the meantime (2002) I became one of the founding members of Dutch Symphonic Metal band Epica. I have been playing with them ever since. With Epica I have released 5 full-length albums, 2 DVD's, 2 double live-albums and a soundtrack CD. The 6th album is in the making and will be released around May 2014. With Epica I played over 750 shows in more than 50 countries, did numerous tours in Europe, North America and South America and played every major venue and (metal)festival around the globe.
