Grammy nomintaed for producing Best Reggae Album "Black Uhuru - As The World Turns" 2019



King Hopeton was born in St Ann, a parish in the beautiful island of Jamaica,
he aspires to create a legacy and body of work which will be synonymous with the works of reggae icons, including Black Uhuru, Wailing Souls, Mighty Diamonds , Itals, The Melodians and Justin Hinds.
The wealth of knowledge that he has grasped from the industry, was honed while playing instruments at weddings, funerals, concerts, festivals and numerous functions since he was 4 years old.
A versatile reggae singer, musician and producer whose work embodies elements of Jazz, Rhythm and Blues,
Ska, Gospel, Alternative and Classical music,
During his childhood, he would play the drums, guitar and organ while exercising his vocal muscles quite appropriately with detail and commitment. Writing and creating his own music has always been a passion.
In his teens he joined the multi award winning United Force Band in 1990 which had recieved awards from the Jamaica Federation of Musicians for best show band,four consecutive years .
His solo career started in 1997‘ as an artist, musician and accomplished producer.



He has also recorded several singles,
including King of Kings, Hard Times,Free Yourself, Can You See the Light, which is currently attracting major rotation on the Jamaican airwaves, internationally in the US, Europian Countries and Africa.
In 2009, King Hopeton was credited by Billboard Magazine for producing 12 of 15 rhythm tracks on
Little Hero’s number one Billboard Reggae album Revelation and Reggae hits stemming from Jamaica to the Caribbean.
King is inspired by the profound teachings of King David and King Solomon, as such, he has written and recorded over 20 albums.
His work has caught the attention of a number of well known names in reggae music, where he has played and
produced for the likes of Mykal Rose and Duckie Simpson( Black Uhuru), Justin Hinds, Everton Blender, Movado, Prezident Brown, Dylans Dharma and Sizzla, Rapture (gospel) and United Force bands.
He has also worked with an array of well known producers including Steelie and Clevie, Hart Richards and Steven Stanley.
His very own independent label Doubleion Records was established and has seen the release of work from the likes of Beenie Man, Sizzla, Capleton, Little Hero, Teflon and many others.
With over 100 shows per year , from acoustic, clubs and festivals performing as solo and also as keyboard player for Black Uhuru, Wailing Souls, Sister Carol, Chacka Demus and Pliers, Tanya Stephens, The Mighty Diamonds and performed such as Alley Arts Fest 2nd Sat(Ca), Sting 2008(Ja),
Benefit for Cancer Treatment (Ca), Best Reggae Fest, One love Regae Fest (California and Florida), In the Light Fest both as an opening act in some and as a Headliner.
King also supports the Make a Wish Foundation and is an advocate for Ultimate World Peace.
King believes that his responsibility lies in being available to people of every nation color or creed whenever the need arises for his support, and most importantly, “sharing his knowledge and devotion to this cause

King Hopeton’ newest album ”Beautiful Morning” is his newest release to date, with tracks , ranging from acoustic soul to heavy basslines, roots rock reggae style. Once Again , Beautiful Morning (title track) and Can You Feel it Jah are just a few of the heart and spiritual lifting music that touches the soul of mankind bringing peace and hope for TODAY.
