Living Machines Biography

Living Machines are a progressive metal outfit that tell a science fiction epic through both the band’s music and their comic book series “Gemini: A Tale of Future Earth.”

Since forming in 2016, Living Machines have been working tirelessly on developing a truly unique audio/visual experience that will transcend the art of storytelling. The band’s first single ‘White Flame’ was released in 2017, following their first provincial tour. This release garnered the attention of multiple news outlets, amassed thousands of views and followers on social networks, and granted them the opportunity to assemble a core fanbase known as The Initiative.

By carefully executing a story that will span the group’s entire discography, Living Machines released their debut EP (and first chapter in their story) ‘I: After Onyx’ in January, 2018. Spanning 11 tracks, it tells the beginning of their tale through cinematic soundscapes, voice acted skits, punishing riffs and interwoven melodic intricacies. It was mixed by Nicolas and Amael of Novelists (Sumerian Records, Nuclear Blast Europe) and quickly set them apart from other bands in the region.

In the summer of 2018, Living Machines released a follow up single ‘The Valkyrie V2’ in June with their new frontman Ryan Card. Their digitally exclusive release ‘I: After Onyx (Declassified Booster Pack)’ contained the unplugged single and a dubstep remix of their song ‘Living Machines’ by Prime Audio producer SixxSpeed. ‘The Valkyrie V2’ music video premiered on Tattoo.com, and has since brought Living Machines the attention of various blogs and critics from around the globe.

Not stopping there, Living Machines have already completed their next EP with producer Jordan Chase (Secret & Whisper, Shreddy Krueger), have had label interest, will be touring across Western Canada as direct support for Shark Infested Daughters in October, and are in open discussions with comic book publishers about bringing their series (written by vocalist and drummer Quinn McGraw) to a global audience.
