Wayne Jackson

Wayne Jackson is impossible to typecast. Like some kind of modern era Renaissance man he moves effortlessly from genre to genre like hickory smoke though the trees. Singer, songwriter, producer, guitar hero, multi-instrumentalist, video maker, actor and martial artist.

He left his home town of Manchester to study English in Wales. His older brother was one of the top live sound engineers in the UK, working for the likes of New Order, Oasis and the Chemical Brothers and this obsession with music was passed onto to Wayne. After graduating with a degree, he started his first band The Dostoyevksys. They had a something of a cult live following in the mid 90s, touring with Oasis and The Manic Street Preachers. He fell in love and relocated to Berlin and focussed on his solo career releasing two major albums and having a world wide hit with Paul Van Dyk on The Other Side in 2005. In Berlin he began to work closely with Olsen Involtini (Seeed, Peter Fox, Rammstein) and they mastermind a novelty hit for a radio play based on the KLF’s Manual . It went on to be one of the years biggest and hits. The pair were drafted in to produce Bela B’s two solo albums, with Jackson co-writing a number of songs including the summer hit 1.2.3…which kept the radio airplay charts busy. He also played guitar in Bela’s live band Los Helmstedt, headlining Rock And Ring, Rock Im Park and countless other festivals and club shows.

He then formed The Dead Lovers with his long term collaboration partner and best friend Lula and they recorded two albums in San Diego capturing the sound of the desert and the twang of vintage guitars. They have been touring tirelessly across Europe the last few years as a duo building a substantial live following.

Along the way, Jackson came third in the German Kickboxing championships and has been training in martial arts for over twenty years. More recently he has set his hand to learning how to tattoo. His energy is like a tour de force. His onstage charisma is legendary and his performances are always impressively powerful and quirky. His songs are often dramatic but frequently laced with irony and humour.
