Soundchaser Official Biography

A wise man once said that when we have a project to complete we should start at the beginning and go all the way to the end. Soundchaser certainly had a great place to begin (Belgium) and judging from the band’s history this power trio plans to stick to their goal and see their project through to the very end. Spokesman, Marcos Rodriguez (vocals, guitar, songwriter), explains “We are musically influenced by all kinds of rock (metal, heavy, hard, speed, trash, death, prog, fusion) and all with the rock style related. We are very open-minded when it comes to the styles of music: we like funk, jazz, pop…as long as the music has heart and is not machine made.” Soundchaser’s songs tend to be in the heavy metal category though the band uses a nice blend of classic and modern styles in their songwriting. Soundchaser can be described as a progressive metal power trio with entertaining and even mildly humorous live shows. The first EP “Follow Me” and the album “A New Awakening” were recorded and produced by Soundchaser. Marcos serves as the “main songwriter” in the band but Tom Peeters (Bass) and Skip Paesschen (Drums) bring ideas and demos into the rehearsals as well. "Many original songs start with imagining how the song would sound in a certain rhythm, then the guitar riff comes along. This normally happens just before I fall asleep in bed!" This leads Marcos to run to the guitar and start the record app in his iPhone. Early the next morning (after a quick coffee, of course) Marcos begins working on the piece and then records the demo in his home studio. "During rehearsal we start working on the arrangements. The lyrics work much the same way: the vocal melody is first written with the lyrics afterwards." Into the Future Soundchaser just released a new album with the title “Changes Part I: The Betrayed”. This album is the first part of an interesting conceptual trilogy about the changes in human relations in all the aspects of life: love, hate, happiness, sadness, lies, truths, etc. etc. In three simple words: our world nowadays. The first part refers to a man who is betrayed by everyone around him. Later he discovers that the “dirty games” were necessary in order to continue with his mission in life… to find his inner happiness. This is just the beginning of a very long journey! The first part of “The Betrayed” is divided into four acts with different musical styles, all of them in Metal/Prog key. “In 2012 we released an EP with three tracks: one song from the album, the radio edited version and a demo version. We are in contact with studios, producers and engineers to find the best sound quality for the most ambitious project we have ever done. The band had their first professional European tour in May of 2012 which included gigs in the UK, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. The new Soundchaser tour started in April 2014 and they have several gigs on their calendar, the most notably shows will be the opening act for the German band RAGE, on their 30th anniversary tour in Switzerland, Italy and Germany. Soundchaser is a power trio band dedicate to ROCK you sucks off! :)
