Ron Williams Music Biography
________________RONWILLIAMS________________ Ron Williams comes from an amazing family rich in music tradition. The son of singer/songwriter Leona Williams, Ron has been surrounded by legends of country music since childhood. Former step-son of both Merle Haggard and hit songwriter/guitarist Dave Kirby, Ron was given the golden opportunity to grow up surrounded by legends of the industry. At age 17, Ron began polishing his own unique style of country music. With influences including Glen Campbell, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, Larry Gatlin, John Conlee and others, he has consistently proven that he is a genuine country artist, and worthy of being referred to as “the real deal”. Performing and traveling all over the U.S., Ron continues to build a huge fan base and has gathered critical acclaim from many of Music Row’s top executives. Some of Ron’s career highlights include: Hosting the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree on multiple occasions Appearing regularly on RFD TV Daily airplay on satellite radio as well as conventional radio Former front man and lead singer of show “Santonio Rose Live” from historic Aztec Theater on river walk in downtown San Antonio Performed across the country of Ireland Guest judge of the “Colgate Country Showdown” on multiple occasions Performances on stage at the Ryman Auditorium Recently filmed television pilot for new country music show from Willie’s Place in Carl’s Corner Texas with Charlie Pride, Mickey Gillie, Willie Nelson and others. Ron has performed with some of country music’s biggest icons including Gene Watson, Bill Anderson, Vern Gosdin, Johnny Bush, Jean Shepperd, Darrell McCall, Ferlin Husky, Sammy Kershaw, Craig Morgan, Lori Morgan and many others. Ron’s songwriting credits include a co/written charted single on artist Joe Diffie, titled “Somethin’ like this” , the title track from the gospel album “Before you say amen” from Heart of Texas Records recording artist Justin Trevino, and a single on Music City Records recording artist Sonny Burgess titled “Alone with you”.
