Chasing The Turn

2011 witnessed the birth of Chasing The Turn as Chas Wesley and Curt Radford joined forces and began playing the backyards and barrooms of Central Illinois. As the gigs kept on coming, these two hit the studio and recorded their debut EP "Here We Stand" in 2012. After hitting the road to promote their efforts, traveling from Kentucky to Colorado, the duo returned to become a fixture on the Central Illinois bar circuit, constantly gaining more friends to help with their sing-alongs all along the way. 2013 saw the boys finally break through the shackles of being a bar band and playing their first theatre shows, warming up the stage for acts such as the David Mayfield Parade, the LoCash Cowboys, and many more! 2014 brought great change to the forefront with Kyle Rhoney joining the band on bass, harmonica, and vocals. Loving the newly expanded sound, the band decided to keep growing. Dave Raistrick joined the group on banjo and vocals adding a whole new dimension to their harmony approach. Dave's bandmate from "Cross The Dog" and longtime Chasing The Turn contributor, John Hooker, also joined the band at even more shows on the drums. The band suddenly found themselves headlining some the top clubs in Illinois. 2015 came and the ball kept on rolling with band playing it's highest profile gigs to date, eventually opening for the Earls of Leicester featuring Jerry Douglas. The band was riding high when a great business opportunity turned their banjo player into a Floridian... But you can't keep a good band down!! Founding members Chas Wesley and Curt Radford have found renewed vigor as duo and still play with the other band members whenever possible. Nowadays, you can see them as a duo, a trio, or as a full band... An ever evolving duo/trio/band with a stripped down acoustic approach playing a mix of original tunes and classic covers capable of captivating any crowd.
