Skytown Biography
Latest Version
Tulsa-grown Acoustic Rock group Skytown has been creating consistently top-ranked music for their wild, growing fan base since 2012.
What started off as playing local gigs with original members Dale Crain (Vocals/Lead Guitar), Tim Burress (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), and Eliot Cooper (Drums), soon gained momentum, perking the ears of crowds and venue owners in Tulsa. The trio grew, incorporating members Jason Ford (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), John Edens (Electric Guitar), and David Williams (Bass), to create what Skytown is today—a hard-hitting, guitar-driven rock group.
After playing just one show with the complete lineup in Tulsa, word spread quickly that there was a "new sound" in town, and from there everything took off. Since then, they’ve continued to play upwards of three shows a week, and have performed at several major music festivals, including: Wakarusa, Backwoods Music Festival, Rocklahoma, East Meets West Battle of the Bands, and the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
This lineup of incredibly talented musicians has established Skytown as one of the most unique sounding bands today. With deep roots in their hometown, the group continues to receive extremely positive feedback from their fans and new listeners alike.
The hit song, "Prizefighter," a track off Skytown’s debut album, Outshine the Sun (2015), was selected out of nearly 19,000 submissions as a semi-finalist in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition. In July 2015, the group released their first-ever music video for the nightmarishly catchy song "Through Circles." Within hours, the video hit over 5,000 views on YouTube, making its way into multiple press outlets.
With an arsenal of yet-to-be-released music, and big plans to spread their music across the country, Skytown is a band not to miss out on, with a sound you’ll never forget.
