Dogs. In Winter

Adam, Simon, and Nate all met in the first grade. I don't know what brought us together, Adam and I (Nate) have the same first letter of our last name, and he moved here from lousiana and sat right down next to me on the puzzel carpet, and the rest as they say is history. lol. no we liked video games, video games, and super smash brothers (seriously adam is the best at super smash bros) We were going over to adams house like everyday, we started to hear his older brother Zack's band Lost Conformity practice, they were the shit, we looked up to everything about them, cool guys, good music, funny. Adam and Simon got together and talked about starting a band, Adam wanted to play guitar, Simon the bass, and I wanted to play drums because they were loud. That's when Nova started. We all got instruments through the love of our parents, they have always supported us. We went into my basement, made a song, that was a total rip of 25 or 6 to 4, and emerged heroes. to give you an idea of what i was feeling here are other moments in my life where i have felt that happy and proud. My first dog. Beating Adam in Super Smash Bros.Graduation. My first kiss.My sister getting married. After a bit of time, we booked our middle school cafeteria, played for all our crushes, i dont think i have ever been more nervous to perform. our moms and grandparents came, video taped us. we still have copies of those nirvana/queen filled sets. That's when i was really hooked, and knew this was all i ever wanted to do. We had multiple guitarists throughout the years. Max Oerther. Reid Arizmendi. Louis John Chmura. Darren Langford. but they have come and gone, we love them all very dearly and they have all contributed to what Dogs. In Winter is today. A dark time for the band was when adam moved away for two years. it was soul crushing i would have to say. Adam moved to the south with his family, and the band was dead in the water. our sophomore and junior years were totally different without the band to help us through stuff. Simon, John and I jammed occasionally, but we were all on the diving team and ridiculously busy. Then one day after not hearing from Adam in months, he calls me, "Dude, I'm moving back" tears on feels on more tears. I'm crying right now writing about it. 2011 -Straight to Mother Nature Recorded in Adams basement. Was all of our unresolved feelings that we had troughout highschool and the hard times as a band. 2012 -Ojo De Fuego:Trasition of Venus Recorded in My basement, in 14 hours. Was our second album incorporating songs from STMN^ but still trying to find our sound. -LIVE IN DETROIT 2013 GBS session where we recorded a live album with some old and new songs to send out as demos. We wanted to capture the energy we have when playing live, and as a result we got a super raw monster recording. 2013 -Miracle Lip Recorded at Backroom Studios we went into the studio to prove that we could write a solid record and record it the way we wanted it to sound.
