Johan Blende is a Swedish music producer, song writer and DJ. For the biggest part of this side of the millennium he’s been weaving together modern dance music elements with retro sounds of the 70s’ and 80s’. Originally from Stockholm, Johan is currently residing in London where he has spent most of the past 20 years. Having an early love for organic pop music, disco & punk as well as 90s’ techno & house, he collected records in his youth that led to a passion for DJ-ing. Finding it would make sense to make his own records it wasn’t always obvious what he wanted to focus on, approaching it more as an ever developing process. Starting off releasing a few rowdy EPs and remixes on various European and US labels, he eventually started going back more to his roots and in 2012 he signed with Belgian disco label Eskimo, releasing a string of singles; “Fake Love”, “Rikki” & “Running”, which received rotation on national radio in Belgium, The Netherlands, UK & Sweden. Taking a temporary hiatus from DJ sets & releasing records during 2015-16 to collaborate and to redefine his sound, Johan returns with his strongest effort to date, “Back to Summertime”, set for worldwide release in spring of 2017.
