State line Mob Biography

State Line Mob was formed out of Muscle Shoals,Al in 2007 by musicians, vocalist & songwriters, Phillip Crunk & Dana Crunk. The Husband & wife duo are natives of the historic music city in North West Alabama & have been singing together for 20 years. They both previously played for years in different bands, while cutting their teeth in some of the south’s most dangerous and run down honkytonk-taverns, where they learned the true meaning of southern grit and tough determination. They released their debut album "Ruckus" in early 2008 which was recorded in Nashville. With "Ruckus", the duo released what they believed a modern southern rock album should sound like.Bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd & slide guitarist, Duane Allman who both recorded in their home town in the early 70's, influenced Phillip & Dana at an early age & with the making of their album. The duo says that their desired sound for their album "Ruckus" was achieved by using sound engineer, George Tutko to mix their songs in the studio, who also gave amazing sound to rock legends such as Kiss,Vinnie Vincent Invasion & John Mellencamp just to name a few. They also give credit to Rodney Mills out of Atlanta who's known famously for album credits with southern rock legends,Lynyrd Skynyrd,38 Special & Atlanta Rhythm Section.Rodney mastered their songs giving them the final mixed production of "Ruckus" & the rest is history. At the end of 2008, the duo won two Muscle Shoals Music Awards for Best new artist of the year & for Best new album of the year as well as additional online awards & achievements in 2009 for their music & music video for their single,"It keeps me going". They even went as far as performing several shows throughout the year with one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's own, Jo Jo Billingsley original "Honkette" backup singer".Jo Jo passed away in early 2010, leaving them with not only great memories but with 3 last words, "Never Give Up". Throughout the years, the band has consisted of various musicians out of Alabama & Tennessee for performing live. A top goal for State Line Mob has been to perform for their International fan base. From the beginning, the Duo has gained continuous support from their fans here in the U.S & all across Europe, the U.K. & Australia. In 2011, Phillip & Dana was in the final stages of booking State Line Mob for a 2 month tour in Europe for the following year that included 3 major Festivals & a Southern Rock Cruise along with some smaller venues, all within their reach. Before it was all final, misfortune took the lead. One of the main venues had changed their festival dates, leaving a huge gap for them to fill while on tour there. Before it could all get worked out,Phillip had an auto accident that came close to ending his life. The Duo took time off from their career, while they both recovered from injuries they sustained from separate accidents. In 2014 the duo returned to the stage with a backing band out of the Birmingham,Al area.State Line Mob performed shows throughout the Summer & fall making a statement that they are back & here to stay. They have endured a lot but they haven't forgot the 3 words that friends like Jo & others have told them, they've "Never Gave Up".Phillip states,"new & old fans abroad are still supporting their album "Ruckus",It's encouraging & we are very very grateful". It's 2015 & they are very excited for what lays ahead of them on the horizon. The duo team are in the process of writing & recording demo songs keeping their rock roots in check. They plan to release new music in the future & to take their music to the stage with a new touring band. The duo are scouting for labels & management that will take them under their wing for new artist development.Check out State Line Mob's Official Website by going to, www.statelinemob.com Everything about the Duo group State Line Mob is a tribute to Southern culture, from their country and blues tinged Southern rock music to their name.
