Dub Kirtan All Stars was created by David Starfire and FreQ Nasty to fuse underground dance music with Yoga Kirtan, the call and response chant of devotional Indian traditions. Bass music conjures ecstatic experiences on the dance floor and Kirtan evokes ecstatic experiences through chanting. David Starfire is an LA-based music producer and DJ creating a fusion of world music, electronic dance music and Hip Hop. He releases music on the Six Degrees Records label and performs internationally, in between sessions in LA composing for TV, movies, and video games. Originally from Long Beach, California Dvine1 has lived and worked primarily in Jamaica and US and continues to play both in the US and abroad. dvine1.com Cyrus Stream is a Multi-instrumentalist focused in percussion, playing Tablas, djimbe, dumbek, drum set, congas, as well as guitar, bass, and piano. He has played with Rock, Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop and African Marimba bands over the last 17 years, as well as accompanying DJs, sitar players and fire spinners, recording for top studios, and teaching music. Arjun Baba has been recording and performing Bhajan, Kirtan, and Sufi Qawwali music since 1998, as well as recording with his collective Arjun & Guardians. She brings chants from the Buddhist Yogi tradition, 7 years of classical singing training, and a love of dance music to her kirtans. Sita Devi is a Yogini, modern dancer, and Kirtan singer based in Santa Monica, California where she teaches yoga and sings Kirtan regularly at Bhakti Yoga Shala. She has performed throughout the Los Angeles area with Saul David Raye, Prema Hara, and Govindas and Radha.
