Seb Black

Seb Black is a Montreal-based, self taught songwriter/producer/director and co-founder of Emery Street Records. Inspired by his marginal youth, and cynical outlook upon society, Seb creates an eclectic and makeshift folk-rock orchestra backed by a unique and smoky snarl of a voice that demands attention. With first album "On Emery Street ", Montreal's Seb Black has delved deep to create a 10-song strong body of work that twists, turns and takes the listener on a journey through an abundance of soulful storytelling and folk-punk spirit that courses through its entirety. Keeping listeners on the edge of their seats by never staying in the same place, or at the same pace, for very long, "On Emery Street" is a electric blast of creativity that earns and deserves absolute attention from the opening beat to it's final note. Simple, yet stunning melodies, twisting, organic beats with thoroughly crafted yet profoundly raw lyrics are Seb's calling card. He is quick to make a name for himself as a much sought-after Artist/Producer in the Montreal music scene, and soon, around the world. His 1st single " No Friend of Mine " features in UFC world champion George St-Pierre's documentary titled " DNA of a Champion." He also travelled to Germany in November 2015 on an acoustic tour with world-renowned recording-artist Everlast. Reception was great, the tour was a huge success, as the venues were packed to the rafters with satisfied music-lovers at each and every event.
