Santiago Street Machine Biography

" They’ve been one of the best live bands in Manchester for some time now and it’s great to see them spreading the word nationally" - Drowned In Sound " raging synthesizers to create an apocalyptic musical meltdown" - This Is Fake DiY "Santiago Street Machine are strikingly evocative. Spark is like an intravenous drip into their world – and what a world that is. - GigSlutz (Dash N Verve editorial) "Their tracks are bloody good on their own. They sound ten times better when they're brought together as a body of work!" - Xfm Breakfast Producer Now performing under their independent and home grown label Hijacker Records, Santiago Street Machine combine explosive, breaks driven drums and seismic, distorted bass riffs with infectious vocal hooks and pulsating synthesizers. Not afraid to push boundaries, the Manchester trio are equally comfortable throwing out experimental house monsters (such as "Face your Fear") as they are with crowd shaking melodic pop (check their last release through Hijacker Records "Sinking Stone"). Their style draws influence from electro to the Manchester indie scene, and with pop sensibilities. The trio have been Festival favourites over the last year - with Main stage appearances at the likes of LeeFest, Manchester Pride, UV Festival and Eurocultured. After playing along side Bastille, Hot Chip and Metronomy, Santiago Street Machine are no stranger to the indie-dance revolution. Santiago Street Machine's 4th single "Running" hits the stores on 15th Sept 2013, released through Hijacker Records. The band have gained a reputation for writing big choruses, with huge bass and drum combinations. Running does not disappoint. As the lead single for their upcoming album "Spark", the track embodies the sound they have cultivated over the last two years. Running definitely lives up to the "big music for big stages" tag critics have given the band. OFFICIAL WEBSITE www.santiagostreetmachine.com
