Dustin Vye

Born in Oyen, Alberta, and a former national team gymnast for Canada, Dustin’s country roots and performance ability fueled a passion for country music that evolved after he sustained an injury that curtailed his competitive gymnastics career. Raised in a musical household where country music was a mainstay, Dustin needed to channel his energy, so he picked up a guitar and learned how to play songs by country greats Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Alison Krauss. His off-the-cuff performances drew the attention of musicians who encouraged Dustin to train formally. This once elite gymnast went from pommel horse, vaulting, and high-flying tumbling to musical theater, Cirque du Soleil, busking, singing in church, and ultimately graduate studies in voice in New York City. His heart, however, was always connected to country, so this “super talented musician” (Keepin’ It Country) teamed up with gifted musicians to create a number of original songs. He recently released his self-titled EP and debut music video for Country Life. Writing or co-writing all of his own music, Dustin’s sound has been described as “…classic, containing only the elements that should be heard on a country record” (Got Country?). And while Dustin’s back injury has long healed, this singer/songwriter has kept up with his acrobatic skills, aiming to really entertain an audience with all sides of his talent.
