Fat Tuesday and the New Custards Biography
Formed in 2010 between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Fat Tuesday and the New Custards work tirelessly to bring their unique and explosive sound to audiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Combining elements of numerous genres- notably blues, jazz, and rock & roll- the band generates an ever-expanding catalog of original music with innovative approaches to guitar-driven rock n roll. Drawing influence from artists such as Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, James Brown, Rush, The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, AC/DC, Dr. John, The Band, and more, Fat Tuesday and the New Custards craft heavy-hitting music that is designed to bring audiences to their feet. Featuring Kody Muhic on drums, Philip Simpson on bass, Austin Riopel on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Cole Newsom on lead guitar, the members of Fat Tuesday and the New Custards have honed their skills playing in countless regional venues and festivals, including multiple appearances at the historic NorVa Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2014, Fat Tuesday and the New Custards relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where they continue to focus intensely on their craft, creating new music and entertaining new audiences.
