Vadimvon Biography

The debut EP titled "Abyssus Diabolorum" was recorded by Daniel "Ikon" V and released in early 2008 through the UK-based indie label Eradication Process on cassette and vinyl as a limited-edition printing of 666 copies. It was quickly distributed throughout the extreme metal underground of Europe and America. The VadimVon project began to make a name for itself not only through music and lyrical themes of dark myths and ancient demonology, but also through V's intense artwork. It was also during the spring of that year that V came close to joining death metal legends Morbid Angel as second guitarist, making his way into the top three finalists during their worldwide audition search for the best shredder. The "RiseKhaosInfernal" full length album was released on VadimVon's own AntiKosm label in Spring of 2009. With the release came the transformation of the studio project into a live performing act which featured the original lineup of "Ikon" V on guitar and vocals, bassist Red Magus and guitarist Sado-Golem. VadimVon toured extensively throughout 2009 and 2010, performing at various festivals and clubs throughout the American continent, spanning the country and performing its own brand of extreme metal. The road began to take a different turn in early 2011 when guitarist Sado-Golem exited the lineup due to personal reasons, as V and bassist Red Magus continued working on new material and auditioning guitarists for the already-scheduled summer festival appearances. Shortly thereafter with no warning Magus was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer and the band was forced to cancel shows with the impending tragedy at hand. Original bassist Red Magus (aka Dwayne Reynolds) died in February of 2012. "Ikon" V completed the production of "Vindicta Interitus Mortem" EP by himself, dedicating the entire work to the memory of his fallen comrade. The name of VadimVon resurfaced in the summer of 2012 when the band was announced as part of the U.S./Canada tour with Morbid Angel, Dark Funeral and Grave. Armed with two blistering guitarists Shaun Cothron (ex-Acheron) and J.Zych (ex-Viking), "Ikon" V took the frontman spot this time playing bass in honor of Red Magus. A week before the beginning of the tour, V and the band fired their prospected drummer due to conflicts of character and completed the tour backed by a machine, which provided the band with an incredibly tight sound that could not have been achieved otherwise. VadimVon performed every night in front of huge audiences of fans as part of the most anticipated extreme metal tour of the year. Upon returning home, V immersed himself in various production and art projects while composing new material. With the two guitarists residing in a different part of the country beginning to pose a strain on further progression of the band, a decision was made to form a new lineup with virtuoso metal bassist Richard Shirah and speed demon drummer Vance "Apollyon", as V re-claimed his original role of guitarist/vocalist. In the fall of 2013 VadimVon was once again announced as support act for Morbid Angel, this time on their North American tour in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album "Covenant", heralded to this day as the greatest and most successful album in the genre of death metal. With the addition of an incredible new rhythm section, VadimVon has truly taken on a new level as a live performing act. The band stormed the stages at each show, invoking monstrous pits and converting new fans, honored by the invitation and such acknowledgement from the legends of metal themselves. After the blistering "Covenant" tour, VadimVon returned to its home studio and began work on a new EP titled "Lay Curse Upon Thy Flesh" which is set to be released during the band's appearance at the Sabbat Fest in Houston on April 19th, 2014.
