Formed in 2013, Tampa Bay, Florida's DRVN blends familiar grooves with and modern style that creates a sort of nostalgic shock for new audiences that have been quickly and steadily turned into die hard fans since seeing DRVN support acts like Hed PE and Sevendust. Their dark but edgy debut single "King Of The World" has received airplay on multiple FM radio stations and was #4 of Rock Solid Pressure TV's Top 10 Tracks of 2013. DRVN's follow-up single "Is This What You Wanted?" shows a more energetic side of the band that is just as serious but knows how to have fun, too. Borrowing the dark edge of Alice In Chains, adding the groove-centric sensibilities of Helmet, and then wrapping it all with a modern twist will get you somewhere close to what DRVN achieves with its music and high-energy live shows. Something went VERY WRONG between the crest of grunge and the birth of nu-metal and rap-core -- and rock music never quite recovered, never lived up to the promise of the 90's. Until now. "DRVN is the answer to the question: what if we never took that wrong turn down Suck Avenue and instead stayed on Awesome Street," says bassist Bruce "Bishop" Prokopets. "We deliver everything you loved about 90's era hard rock and added all the modern twists you've grown to want." But DRVN is not an attempt to re-live some distant part of our collective past. Instead, DRVN is something brand new that "feels" familiar in all the right ways.
