Rebelation

Rebelation is an eight-piece reggae-ska band from Norfolk, England, with a three-piece horn section, female and male lead vocalists, backed by a solid guitar, bass and drums rhythm section. Influenced by 60’s Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady and 70’s Roots, with nods to Soul and Gospel, Rebelation are always progressing their sound to remain relevant and contemporary.

Their signature sound is defined by a powerful horn section, harmony rich vocals and a super tight rhythm section. Covering contemporary and ageless subject matter, dealing with social and political challenges and bringing a vibe of positivity, inclusivity, hope and resolution.

Rebelation had five releases between 2002 and 2009 on leading UK Ska label, Do the Dog Music, becoming one of the label's top selling artists. 2014’s 'Arise' album was released on Phoenix City Records, a subsidiary of Cherry Red Records, who released their entire back-catalogue across all digital channels.

Appearing on numerous compilation albums, in November 2022 we had a track on The Specialized Project, for the Specialized Teenage Cancer Trust fundraiser. In March 2023, legendary US ska/reggae label, Stubborn Records, released a track as part of their Still Stubborn series.

They've consistently toured throughout the UK and Europe playing some of the top clubs and festivals, including headline slots at the London International Ska Festival, Cambridge’s Strawberry Fair and Kippertronix Festival in Wales. Have played some iconic venues, such as London Astoria, 100 Club, Thekla Bristol, Effenar Eindhoven and 4AD Diksmuide and played many sell out shows, including headlining the Camden Barfly, London, for the launch of our Arise album. They've shared stages with The Slackers, Bad Manners, Laurel Aitken, The Selecter, Asian Dub Foundation, Soulwax, The Beat and The Toasters.

Rebelation receive regular global airplay across mainstream and independent radio stations, especially in the UK, US, France, Mexico and Australia, had several television appearances, music on film soundtracks and been featured in a book about the UK ska scene.
