The Seas Biography

The Seas is a four-piece rock band from London, Kentucky. Formed in late 2009, Michael Sliter, Logan Powell, Jeremy Williams and Richard Sester began creating music that juxtaposed a heavy and aggressive style with textural and atmospheric elements. The Seas have forged a sound that is powerful and emotional, delivering a premium blend of metal, alternative, industrial and progressive genres. On August 30, 2011, The Seas released their debut album, “A Separation.” Recorded, mixed and mastered at Groove Studio in Berea, KY, “A Separation” showcased the musicianship and creativity of the band. The title track is the centerpiece of the album, a dynamic epic that is musically and lyrically cathartic. Layer by layer, the track builds toward a floating, odd-timed interlude complete with textural guitar and compelling vocals. The track propels to a close with a final, aggressive chorus that adequately sums up the content of the song. Like “A Separation,” the entire album carefully weaves together moody and melancholy arrangements into brutal riffs and odd time signatures… taking the listener on a journey of musical diversity. The band has also built a reputation as a commanding live act. Every set list is crafted to have maximum impact on the audience. Interludes are used to create moods and bridge songs together into a complete show instead of a collection of individual songs. To sum up the live experience, the band strives to recreate the sounds of the album with an authentic, high-energy performance. The Seas are currently focused on writing their sophomore follow-up to “A Separation” and performing regularly with other regionally and national acts.
