Ashton Tucker Biography

Ashton Tucker is a guitarist and vocalist from Bristol UK. He began to play early on as a rhythm guitarist, inspired by his alternative rock surroundings as a young teenager, he has been performing and writing since the young age of 13. Since then, he has played to audiences up to 300 people and taught many young students through individual guitar lessons and band workshops around the city Ashton first decided to study as a session musician after travelling to the International Guitar Festival in Bath where he was taught by guitar tutors from music colleges throughout the UK. It was here that he first discovered blues-rock guitarists of the late 70s to 80s such as Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Eddie Van Halen, Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi and Gary Moore, who heavily influence his lead playing style. He has returned every year since and is now an established member of the festival crew, giving him opportunities to work with and learn from esteemed musical figures such as Andy Mckee, Rodney Branigan, Guthrie Govan and Alex Hutchings. He was lucky enough to take part in a jam sessions with Jamiroquai and Jessie J’s bands. Ashton has played in various different projects and gigged in and around the Bristol area with bands such as The Penoir Kings, Freddie Draper and The Summit and Infusion as both a vocalist and guitarist, playing some of the cities top venues such as The Croft, The Fleece and The Cooler. At 17 he headlined the Fleece and played on the main stage at Boomfest in Weston Super Mare. He also has produced and composed for other groups of all musical genres. Most notably, taking part in composing a piano concerto for the historic Belmont house in Wraxall. He also composes his own acoustic solo material for which he sings also and writes currently for an Alternative Band.His songwriting influences include Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls and The Raconteurs After studying music technology, music and performing arts at Backwell school sixth form, Ash was successful in auditioning for a place to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester to study Popular Music Practice. He currently resides in Manchester to study as well as working with upcoming projects in the area.
