the Objex Biography

Biography The Objex first stable lineup was formed in April of 2006 consisting of Felony Melony on Vocals, Jim Nasty on Guitar,Joe Perv on the Drums, and the Jerm on Bass. Their First actual show being may 4th 2006 at Las Vegas First Friday Celebration. Heavily influenced by the likes of Chuck Berry, TurboNegro, David Bowie,Tina Turner, and The Plasmatics, The Objex outlandish and aggressive style was quickly noticed in the local scene. With a seemingly instant writing connection between Felony Melony and Jim Nasty, the band wrote and recorded their 5 song demo, “Bound And Gagged”, and spent the final months of 2006 touring the US with the new material. On December 31st 2006 while preparing their first full-length album, “Attack Of The Objex”, Jerm Left the band to pursue other interests , the band had to use Lucy Luscious of Tito And The Tarantula for a one time new years show. There they met Aly 2x the self-proclaimed “best damn bass player with a vagina that you will ever see”. Aly 2x was a fresh and welcomed addition to The Objex and made an instant connection with the band. With a solid line-up, The Objex were finally ready to unleash their music on the world. In January of 2007 their debut album, “Attack Of The Objex” was released and resulted in a series of shows and high profile appearances. Notable appearances included shows at the SXSW music festival, The Afro Punk music festival in Brooklyn, NY, and a spot as a supporting act on UK tours with Demob, Gold Blade and The UK Subs including performances at the Hurricane festival. The Objex’s music was also included in multiple independant films, television shows and magazines. The band began writing new material in March of 2008. Due to creative differences, Joe Perv left The Objex to pursue other interests in May of 2008. Having established the prior year as a force to be reckoned with, The Objex needed to act fast and find a replacement for Joe. After months of auditioning drummers the band finally found their rhythm section leader and added Chili (Joaquin Espinosa) as their permanent drummer in July 2008. The Objex then got back to working on what they do best and ended the year on a high note performing again at The Afro punk Festival in Brooklyn NYC (This time with up and coming artists Sual Williams and Janel Monet) and Headlining a show at Webster hall in Manhattan. For the entire year of 2009 the band spent their time writing songs and doing small tours in preparation for the follow-up to their debut album, “Reservation For Debauchery”. After months of searching for a producer that understood the vision and direction of The Objex, the band settled in with Jason Tanzer of Dust Tree Production Studios in April 2010 and “Reservation For Debauchery” went into production. A few short months later, The Objex won the Vegas Rocks Award for Best Punk Rock Band 2010 and were nominated for a Hollywood Music Award for best alternative song 2011 and best rock song 2012. Aly 2x departed in the beginning of 2011 to pursue her roots indie music. She was replaced by Ivan Del Real and The Objex began a 2 week tour of Ireland immediately after. The exposure in Ireland led to a non exclusive distribution contract with Australian Label Blue Pie Records. Upon returning to US The Objex went quickly back to work recording a New Music Video For "The Song Lethal Lips", Appearing and performing Live on Vegas In Tune, appearing on the cover of The Las Vegas Weekly (may 2012) and launching a concentrated and successful tour campaigns in southern California and the Pacific Northwest, which led to the introduction to music Producer Andy Carpenter who brought The Objex to Los Angeles to Began Recording their Next EP "Super Charged Lil Nova" in August 2012. . The Objex are currently recording their new EP and preparing for its release in may 2014. Rock n' Roll Band from Las Vegas
