Siren Strings

It all began when two violinists, Marlo Zemartis, Debra Yavitz, and a cellist, Corinne Hymel, decided to wield their musical talents and expertise to form a non-traditional quartet. They took their inspiration from Sirens, mythical sea creatures whose legendary music was a source of enchantment to sea travelers from miles around. By combining their love of music and their diverse musical backgrounds, Siren Strings are continually evolving their sound and music specialty. The quartet plays original arrangements as well as original compositions written by the musicians themselves. Their repertoire ranges from private music requests at weddings to Top 40 hits they have adapted specially for Siren Strings. The members of the Sirens are all current UNLV Music Majors or Alumni on the road to becoming music professionals and teachers. Since Starting, they have made many public appearances in the Las Vegas area. Keep a lookout for our local performances (Container Park, First Friday, busking on The Strip, local bar shows, etc) or feel free to book us for one of your events!
