Upon Descent Biography

Upon Descent, a five piece metal outfit hailing from the West Midlands 'the home of heavy metal', are a fully-charged, motivated and determined self-made band. Regularly, you may find the guys recording their own songs at their own studio, or rehearsing their intense adrenaline filled set. Whether it be over a few beers or full blown congregation of fans and metal lovers alike, the Upon Descent machine DOES NOT STOP! Never afraid to be off the wall, different and always pushing boundaries. Embraced or feared, this beast knows no limits. They've played many gigs during the 4 years of being a band (highlights so far has to be opening for the legendary Testament & Soulfly). Influenced by old school bands such as, Morbid Angel, Testament, Megadeth to newer bands such as, Machine Head, Sepultura, Alice in Chains and even bands such as Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails. the guys never stop living what they see as their dream that is unleashing the black matter aggression that is Upon Descent. Upon Descent are not one to claim anything, they leave it up to the listener to hear the individual and aggressive edged metal which combines down-right heaviness to lighter melodies and lightning guitar work. Honest and powerful and unrelenting, Upon Descent aim for the throat and will reach the top. "Given the task of headlining the day were extreme metallers UPON DESCENT. These guys are difficult to pigeonhole into a specific genre as they incorporate elements and traits that include thrash, groove, melodic and death to name a few. They hit the stage with ferocity that never relented throughout as the barrage of sheer crushing power and brutality hit you right in the face. They surged through ‘Shall We Begin’, before unleashing more devastation in the form of ‘Undying Night’ and ‘Black Matter Aggression’. The dual guitar attack of Dave Dorricott and Matt Ward were exceptional as they churned out bonecrunching riffs with aplomb, while frontman Dab Brown‘s aggressive vocal style was a perfect match for the chaos that ensued. A fitting end to a cracking day of metal!" --Live: Midlands Metal Crusade – The Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton – 12/10/2013--baconmusic.co.uk---Adam Fredericks.
