Niño Zombi

PunkSka band formed in Mexico City in 2003 and currently located in Los Angeles, CA. They define their music as "Zombie PunXka", influenced by Punk, Ska/RockSteady/Reggae, Hardcore, Metal . They have experienced several line-up changes with Vocalist/Guitarist DaN Zombie being the only constant member. In 2004 they released a 5 song demo and started playing local shows, their goal as a band has always been to promote the music they love which is punk and ska as one genre. They have always tried to stay away from the infamous "MexSka" scene which involves a particular form of "Ska" mixed with Latin rhythms and Mexican music such as Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Banda and Mariachi. Their goal was always to sound different and to introduce the real PunkSka to their fans in their hometown Mexico City. In 2006 in the middle of the recording of their first album, DaN Zombie met Stza Crack from the NYC bands Choking Victim / Leftover Crack / Star Fucking Hipsters , they teamed up to play C.V./L.o.C. songs as "The Crack Rock Steady Siete" a Mexican version of the original "Crack Rock Steady Seven". They played a few shows in Mexico and recorded 2 original songs: "The CRS7 Theme Song" and "We all must die". In late 2007 they decided to relocate to Los Angeles, CA as a result of Dan’s constant family visits and invitations to play. A Full US tour (33 dates on the West Coast, East Coast and Mid West) was followed in Summer 2008 riding a short bus with Punk Rock band Krush Klamath from Portland Oregon (Social D / Youth Brigade Style). 2009/2010 saw them writing/recording new songs with a new Line-Up, playing shows all over California and Tijuana sharing stage with Star Fucking Hipsters, Buck-O-Nine, La Plebe, Fishbone, Mustard Plug, Big D and the kids Table, Nobody's Hero (members of Against All Authority and the Vandals), Voodoo Glow Skulls, M.D.C. Classics of Love (Featuring Jesse Michaels from Operation Ivy) and more. 2011/2012/2013/2014 Shared the Stage with: Star Fucking Hipsters, Citizen Fish, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Left Alone,Long Beach Rehab (Feat. members of Sublime),Total Chaos,Agent Orange, D.I.,Los Difuntos, Dan Potthast and The Bricks, The Billybones, The Uptones, Ska Daddyz, Death by Stereo, Union 13, Death March (Feat. Skinhead Rob of The Transplants),Peligro, The Toasters, Blackbird Rum,HR of Bad Brains,Break Anchor (Feat. Jay Navarro of The Suicide Machines), Leftöver Crack, Rats in the Wall, Dirty Kid Discount, Apathy Cycle, The Dickies, Cheap Sex, Narcoleptic Youth, The Independets, Liquor & Poker, Mad Conductor and Roddy Radiation (of The Specials) & The Skabilly Rebels.
