Ollie Vee Biography

Ollie Vee was formed in a desolate Southern Ontario farm town called Seagrave and relocated to Fallbrook, California. The 4-piece band stumbled on to its start when front man, Jesse Adamson grabbed a late night taxi home from a roadside dive bar in a neighboring town. As the blue moonlight hit the blacktop, the silver haired driver revealed himself as Howard Linscott. Their conversation started at modern music and how it had no guts or soul and quickly turned to traditional rock 'n' roll. With pompadours piled high, the unlikely strangers pined over the black Boogie Woogie and Rock 'n' Roll music of early Memphis and New Orleans recordings. As farm fields, cattle and old broken barns flew by in the night, the conversation moved on to the revolutionary rednecks of rockabilly that emerged from this legendary black sound. The two strangers began to write together and it became clear that they needed a real finger pickin’ roots guitar player. Meanwhile a young man with an old soul named Johnny Vassos was on his way to meet a man at the cross roads, when he stumbled onto a weathered old poster on a lamp post. Outside of that dark saloon where Linscott and Adamson connected for the first time, Johnny could only make out two phrases and a phone number on the tattered, sun bleached poster – “Scotty Moore” and “Wanted”. With last night’s Jack Daniels on his breath he dialed the number. Ollie Vee met for the first time that evening. Johnny’s long black truck rolled down the dirt driveway and he got out. The band setup in the vaulted living room of Adamson’s country house and played “Luck Like Me” for the first time. It was undeniable. Pure-magic. OV started as a 3-piece, but in 2013 Adam Perzia joined on percussion to anchor that Ollie Vee boxcar backbeat rhythm section. Lonesome Girl is Ollie Vee’s debut album.
