Reuben Archer's Personal Sin Biography

In the late 50’s Reuben studied at Kingston College Of Art along with Keith Relf and Eric Clapton, hanging out in Richmond and Kingston-On-Thames with the likes of Long John Baldry, Dave Brock, and many others who would eventually make their way in the world of rock and roll. Reuben however did not follow that path until much later in life, when he formed his first band LAUTREC, with his stepson Laurence. There followed time with the NWOBHM outfit LIONHEART, and then WILD HORSES, but it was when their new hard rock outfit STAMPEDE signed a major deal with POLYDOR RECORDS that the Archers began to make significant moves in the right direction. Stampede released their first EP in 1981, followed by a live album recorded at the Reading and Mildenhall festivals the same year. In ‘82 they released their first studio album HURRICANE TOWN, played dates with DEF LEPPARD, SAXON, and GARY MOORE and after suffering a major accident, Reuben decided to quit the music business to form his own design company. 25 years later, following the re-release by UNIVERSAL of most of STAMPEDE’S back catalogue, the band reformed to gig and record a new album A SUDDEN IMPULSE, released on ROCK CANDY RECORDS. The record received world wide acclaim and STAMPEDE decided to continue performing and recording. A new album is scheduled for release early in 2014. Also in 2013 Reuben recorded a track for UFO’s Paul Raymond’s own solo project, and subsequently fronted THE PAUL RAYMOND PROJECT for its promotional tour. Reuben spent eleven months of 2012/13 writing and recording a solo project entitled PERSONAL SIN. The record was released in August of 2013 by Reuben’s label TOXIC ARROW RECORDS. It features guest appearances from Dave Meniketti (Y&T), John ‘Rhino’ Edwards (Status Quo), Neil Murray (Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Coliseum 2, Snakecharmer), Harry James (Magnum, Thunder, Snakecharmer), Luke Morley (The Union, Thunder), Paul Quinn (Saxon), Paul Raymond (UFO, PRP), Derek Holt (Climax Blues Band), Rocky Newton (Lionheart, MSG), Kevin Riddles (Angelwitch, Tytan) and more. There followed two single releases with accompanying videos, and after receiving fantastic reviews and acclaim, plans are underway to record PERSONAL SIN 2. Whilst all this has been going on Reuben decided to explore yet another facet of the rock and roll business; broadcasting. Currently presenting his own two-hour radio show on FIRE BRAND ROCK RADIO on the last Friday of each month at 8pm (3pm EST) entitled ARCHER’S OLD SKOOL ARCHIVES. Personal Sin is out now on CD (http://geni.us/2D4j) and digitally via iTunes: http://geni.us/3nn and Amazon: http://geni.us/3IUU New album PETROLHEAD out now!
