Slant of Light

With a focus on poetry and harmony, Slant of Light burst onto the Boston music scene in the fall of 2009. Originally a 3-piece acoustic/electric rock trio, Slant of Light released two full-length albums, played many shows around the Boston area - most notably The Brighton Music Hall, and took a short East Coast Tour, where the band travelled as far as North Carolina. Currently, Slant of Light has reinvented themselves to feature M.E. Foley on guitar, Kevin Harvey on stand-up bass, and Aaron Zak on banjo, accompanied with three-part harmonies on every song. The band recently released a 7-inch single in anticipation of their full-length vinyl album release coming this spring, recorded by Benny Grotto at Mad Oak and Q Division, and mastered at New Alliance East. The new album, entitled Fruition, features all-original folk music that draws upon influences both classic (Tom Waits) and new (Bon Iver, The Devil Makes Three). With a strong practice regimen and an entertaining on-stage rapport, Slant of Light delivers a tight and emotionally charged performance every time they step on stage.
