Apostates Biography
"Looking for the future of British punk rock? Then stop here." Big Cheese Magazine The Apostates are a melodic punk rock band from London. December 2012 saw them release their debut album "Wide-Eyed & Determined" (produced at Middle Farm Studios by James Bragg and Pete Miles) through their own record label, Wolves Of Suburbia. Wide Eyed & Determined is a celebration of struggle, survival and clear thinking, a journey from the shadowed beginning to the lighter side of living. Songs written from not just the bottom of the barrel, but the center of the ocean, wading through troubled times and embracing the support of those around them. The record opens a new chapter in the band’s career, highlighting their DIY work ethic and dedication to the scene. Established in 2006 and having played over 500 live shows, as well as a session for the Radio One Punk Show, The Apostates have become widely regarded as "one of London's best kept secrets” - Polite Riot. Continually moving in new directions, The Apostates songwriting and musicianship has evolved over time to a developed, energetic and tight live performance. Difficult to pigeonhole, the band’s sound melds a range of influences leading to widely different associations: "Make Do And Mend and The Menzingers creep in a little against the main backdrop of British Punk and Rock, and there's a presence of folk-driven input that will please fans of bands like Apologies, I Have None and Frank Turner as well" - Punktastic. "Part No Idea records, part Pixies and part NME friendly layers of melody-filled harmonies." - Room 13 4/5 - Big Cheese Magazine 4/5 - Punktastic 4/5 - Music Trespass 7.8/10 - With Guitars http://www.theapostates.bandcamp.com
