Hex Hectic Biography

In early March 2014, Hex Hectic got accepted to Kanye West’s “Donda’s House” program as part of a group of only 30 people who will be led and mentored by Hip Hop artist, Rhymefest. Not long after that, his radio show, “Midnight Owls”, was launched on 88.5 FM. Hex Hectic kicked off April with the premiere of his mini-reality television series on CAN-TV, a venture in conjunction with Trinidad Productions. It’s been a busy road for Hex Hectic since he began his career in music. Only five years after being introduced to the scene, he is busy making room in the music industry and a recognizable name to go with it. What started off as a means of unloading multimedia ideas has turned into a journey with constant achievements and multiple directions, all led by the desire to succeed. While the passion has been and is music, there have been other elements that have attracted his attention. In 2009 Hex Hectic founded the The Knights of Chicago volunteer team. With only a few members, they were able to land their first opportunity alongside the Chicago White SOX roster, staff and other volunteers. Shortly after, in an effort to provide more services for under privileged kids in his community, Hex Hectic & The Knights of Chicago organized their own event called The Baller’s Xtravaganza, an 8-team, 6-hour basketball tournament successfully raising $1,200.00 for the West Lawn Park District and a $1,000.00 cash prize. The event took place on September 12, 2009. As mentor and friend, Francisco Rangel, also known as DJ Prodigy, said, “This period marked the beginning of Hex Hectic’s new journey.” Hex began promoting and coordinating events, which eventually led him to form Second City Underground. Sold out shows & merchandise quickly followed; however, were short-lived. Hex Hectic didn’t take the order to cease operations as defeat. Rather, he took it as a learning experience and opportunity to rebuild. It was then that the name was changed to Hectic Media Group, a division of his existing corporation that handles graphic design and video production. In 2010 Hex Hectic made his debut as a solo artist and for the first time performed alongside the Rocksteady Boys. It wasn’t until 2011 that he himself became a part of the rap group, adding the Rocksteady Boys to his official entertainment roster. Together, the Rocksteady Boys have opened for artists such as Snow Tha Product, Joell Ortiz, Mystikal, New York DJ, Tony Touch and even reggaeton duo, RKM y Ken-Y at Chicago’s Congress Theater. Although that was only his third performance, the show at the Congress was what solidified the dream that Hex Hectic wanted to do this for the rest of his life. No stranger to working hard, Hex has shown dedication and innovation across many platforms. Born in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, and raised by his mom, he quickly learned what it was to fight for a dream. Becoming a young parent himself, his motivation for success continues to be strongly driven by his family. A simple introduction to the underground music scene has led to numerous ideas and opportunities, solidifying Hex Hectic as a must-watch on anyone's radar.
