The Type Biography
Using the most popular social media platform of 2005, MySpace, Jeri Casper sought out and found a talented musical collaborator, Terri Schanen. They wrote songs, went through a few drummers until finally finding Tim Spinler via Craigslist (yay Internet!) and eventually added another guitarist, Aly Niemiec. In 2008, they recorded and released "This is What We Sound Like." Shortly after the release, Terri left the band to form Nellie Wilson and the Hellbound Honeys. In the meantime, the band was joined by Josh Welch on bass, and this incarnation recorded the album "Sirens and Storms" in 2011. "Sirens and Storms" went on to win "Best Alternative Album" at the Madison Area Music Awards in 2012. The Type was also featured on the "Local Love Fest" release in 2012, covering a Tiny Riots song. On the same compilation, their song, "You're No Rollie Fingers" was covered by Venus in Furs. The Type played their final show on January 25, 2014. Lost my shoes in a battle with God.
