Rotten Bark

[PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR ENGLISH VERSION] Zespół Rotten Bark powstał w grudniu roku 2005 kiedy Adrian „Adi” Owsianik oraz Piotrek Kowalik, grający w różnych zespołach, zdecydowali się założyć wspólny side-project. Dopiero latem 2006 roku uformował się cały skład zespołu. Wtedy to do RB dołączyli Paweł Nazaruk, Mateusz Struzik oraz Kuba Sobiecki (Mateusz i Kuba byli wówczas członkami Critical Mass – metalowego zespołu, którego wokalistą był Adrian). W lipcu 2006 zespół zagrał pierwszy koncert, jednak do końca roku 2006 zespół nie kontynuował działalności. Kilka miesięcy później, w lutym 2007 zespół zmienił skład. Nowym bębniarzem został Irek Orzeł, a gitarzystą Tomek Antoniuk. Wiosną tego samegu roku ukazało się pierwsze demo zespołu. Znajdował się na nim m.in. utwór „Don’t Give Up”, w którym gościnnie zaśpiewała przyjaciółka zespołu – Natalia „Zagi” Wójcik. Rotten Bark koncertowało promując demo do końca 2007 roku. Rok 2008 to okres kolejnych zmian w składzie oraz pracy nad pierwszą płytą. W maju pojawił się nowy wokalista – Marcin „Procent” Jawicz, jednak po 2 miesiącach nastąpiła kolejna zmiana i kolejnym wokalistą Rotten Bark został Kamil „Drops” Malczyk - były lider grupy Better Than Nothing. Sierpień 2008 upłynął na nagrywaniu wokali do debiutanckiego albumu. Z powodu nieprzewidzianej awarii sprzętu, cały materiał na płytę przepadł, a zespół zdecydował, że chce stworzyć coś zupełnie nowego. Kolejne miesiące to okres metamorfozy - to wtedy ukształtował się dotychczasowy styl zespołu. Rotten Bark zaczęło więcej koncertować i tworzyć nowe utwory. Od czerwca 2009 zespół współpracował z menadżerem, a efektem tej współpracy były częste koncerty w różnych miejscach w Polsce. Wakacje obfitowały w koncerty, kręcony był również pierwszy wideoklip pt. „You”, jednak kolejny raz pech nie opuszczał zespołu i materiał zaginął. Pod koniec wakacji zespół zamknął się w studio Mietka Jureckiego w Lublinie by nagrać pierwszy singiel zatytułowany Chillin’ Out. Na płycie ukazał się również nagrany ponownie Don’t Give Up z gościnnym udziałem Natalii. Miksem singla ostatecznie zajął się lider zespołu – Adi. W maju 2010 zespół postanowił pracować na własną rękę, od tego momentu Adrian pełni funkcje menadżera zespołu. Około 7 lipca Rotten Bark rozpoczęło nagrywanie pierwszego, debiutanckiego albumu w State Of Sound Studio (studio gitarzystów zespołu Rotten Bark). Kilka tygodni po sierpniowym koncercie na Coke Live Festiwal 2010 (jednocześnie po ukończeniu nagrań bębnów w studio) Irek odszedł z zespołu, a jego miejsce zajął Przemek „Dojcz” Niemiec. Rok 2011 to czas sporego przełomu dla Rotten Bark. Zespół został finalistą jednego z największych polskich TV Show – Mu Be The Music / Tylko Muzyka. Zaledwie kilka tygodni później grupa występuje jako finalista koncertu Top Trendy 2011 w Sopocie. W lipcu 2011 zespół opuszcza Przemek Niemiec, a nowym perkusistą zostaje Łukasz „Bolo” Tomczak. Już w 2 dni po przyjęciu go do składu, Rotten Bark gra duży koncert supportując Paramore podczas Rock In Summer Festiwal 2011 w Warszawie. W międzyczasie Rotten Bark podpisuje kontrakt z wytwórnią My Music. Pod koniec sierpnia zespół zaprosił fanów z całego kraju by wspólnie z nimi nagrać trzeci w ich karierze wideoklip zatytułowany „I Don’t Mind”. Oficjalna premiera debiutanckiego albumu „Stuck In Here” miała miejsce 18 października 2011. Rotten Bark pojawiło się gościnnie w jednym z odcinków półfinałowych drugiej edycji Must Be The Music. W maju 2012 swoją premierę ma nowy singiel zespołu zatytułowany "Womanman". Premiera połączona była z występem grupy w programie "Się Kręci Na Żywo", gdzie można było usłyszeć nowego singla po raz pierwszy, jeszcze przed pojawieniem się go na Youtube. Jesień przyniosła zmiany w stylistyce grupy -a dokładnie pierwszy utwór w języku polskim pt. "Nie Mów Nic". Lekki i melancholijny utwór zapowiada pracę nad nową płytą, jednak Adi i Drops zapewniają, że to będzie jedyny tak wolny i delikatny kawałek na płycie. Band Biography: The band was formed in December 2005, when Adrian "Adi" Owsianik and Peter Kowalik, playing in different bands, decided to form a joint side-project. It was the summer of 2006 when the whole band was formed. Then Paweł Nazaruk, Mateusz Struzik and Kuba Sobiecki (Mateusz and Kuba were members of Critical Mass - metal band whose lead singer was Adrian) became new members of RB. In July 2006 the band played their first concert, but by the end of 2006 the band did not continue to operate. A few months later, in February 2007 the band changed its members. Irek Orzeł became new drummer, and Tomek Antoniuk a guitarist. In the spring of the same year the band released its first demo. It contained such songs as "Don’t Give Up," which was vocally featured by the band's friend - Natalia "Zagi" Wójcik. Rotten Bark toured promoting the demo until the end of 2007. The year 2008 brought further changes in the band composition. It was also the year of work on their first album. In May, a new lead singer - Marcin "Procent" Jawicz appeared but after 2 months there was another change and another vocalist of Rotten Bark became Kamil "Drops" Malczyk - former leader of the Better Than Nothing band. August 2008 was spent on recording vocals for their debut album. Due to an unforeseen hardware failure, all the material for the CD was lost, and the band decided they want to create something completely new. Next months were the period of metamorphosis - the current style of the band was formed. Rotten Bark began touring more and to create new songs. Since June 2009 the band had collaborated with the manager, and the outcome of this collaboration have been frequent concerts in various places in Poland. Summer holidays were filled with concerts. The first music video titled "You" was also shot during that period, but once again, unluckily to the band, the material was lost. At the end of the summer the band was working in the studio owned by Mietek Jurecki in Lublin to record their first single called Chillin 'Out. The song Don’t Give Up featuring Natalia also appeared on the CD. The band leader – Adi took care of mixing up the single. In May 2010 the band decided to work on their own and from that time Adrian functions as manager of the team. Around July 7 Rotten Bark began recording their debut album in State Of Sound Studio (studio owned by guitarists of Rotten Bark). A few weeks after the August concert at the Coke Live Festival 2010 (at the same time after the completion of recording drums in the studio) drummer - Irek left the band and was replaced by Przemek "Doych" Niemiec. Year 2011 is the time of some career breakthrough for the band. Rotten Bark became a finalist of one of the biggest TV Shows in Poland – Mu Be The Music. Couple weeks later the band come back to television playing “King Of The Disco” on Top Trendy Festival 2011 in Sopot. In July 2011 Przemek Niemiec left the band and was replaced by new drummer – Łukasz “Bolo” Tomczak. Just two days after taking Bolo to the team they played big show supporting Paramore at Rock In Summer Festival in Warsaw. In the meantime, the band signed to label My Music. At the end of August the band invited fans from all over the country and did their third music video called "I Don't Mind". The official premiere of debut album "Stuck In Here" took place on October 18, 2012. Rotten Bark appeared as a guest in semi-final episode of the second edition of Must Be The Music. In May 2012 they released a new single called "Womanman". Premiere performance was combined with a group in the "Sie Kreci Na Zywo", where you could hear the new single for the first time, even before the appearance of it on Youtube. Autumn has brought changes in the style of the group-and exactly the first song in Polish - "Nie Mow Nic". Light and melancholy song promises to work on a new album, but Adi and Drops ensure that this will be the only one so slow and gentle song on the album. Melodic Party Pop Punk ;-)
