Monkeys With Machetes

Monkeys With Machetes is a four-piece, Hard rock band straight out of the downtown Hamilton area. The three original members consist of Keith Terry-Anderson(Lead guitar, vocals), Marcus Perry(Drums), and founding member Colby Simms(Rythm guitar, lead vocals). (2010) High school friends turned band mates. The three would go on to duke it out all over the Hamilton rock and metal club scene under their original band name "Serotonin". It was later decided in the winter of 2011 that the band needed to expand its lineup from a 3 piece, to a four with the addition of new bassist Bennett Scarrat, and switching Keith Anderson to Lead guitar. Spawning a newer, gritty layer to what would then be known as the Monkeys with Machetes sound. (2012) With the birth of the new band name, the addition of a new player and the new dynamic. Monkeys with Machetes, went on to invade any and all shows. Playing gigs of all caliber, from the punk rock, to metal. This would truly effect the direction of MwM's sound. In the summer of 2012, Bennett Scarrat was unfortunately removed from the band. Due to complications with attending rehearsals, and shows. But by a stoke of luck, through a mutual friend, Colby would meet MwM bassist and back up vocalist Eric Baldry. (2013) MwM would record a debut demo EP under the Burlington BMC label at B Town Sound. Released August 29th 2013. Tensions grew in the band shortly after the release, and Mark Perry, and Eric Baldry parted ways with MwM. Colby, and Keith would later decide to take a break from the project to readjust. Colby went on to form Hamilton metal band Full Dead, as Keith pursued his solo career. (2017) After a four year hiatus, Colby, and Keith have decided to pick up the gloves again and get back to work. Accompanied by Python drummer Evan Greenaway, and Full Dead bassist Peter Bhogal, the new line up of Monkeys with Machetes has never been stronger.
