ON TRACY LANE Biography

ON TRACY LANE Singer/songwriter Darryn Yates started On Tracy Lane in Los Angeles CA in 2004. OTL quickly caught the attention of music video director Joe Eckardt. He enlisted actress Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, Party of 5) to play Darryn’s love interest in the music video for the OTL song “Back to Maybe”. The song, video, and marketing made OTL one of the biggest bands on MySpace in 2005/2006 with millions of plays, views, and friends. They ended up recording an EP in Darryn’s hometown area of St. Louis with Shock City Music producer/musician Doug Firley of Gravity Kills Fame. This EP propelled OTL to a US tour landing them opening slots for Avril Lavigne, American Hi-Fi, Local H, Phantom Planet, and Butch Walker. In 2008, the band relocated to Nashville TN to record with producer Mikey Puwal. (Insane Clown Posse) They released their debut full-length CD called “Are We Rich Yet”. They followed that up with their next CD called “Pretend the Thing with Charlie Never Happened”. Songs from these CDs and their high-energy passionate rock show landed On Tracy Lane an indie record deal with Octave Match Records and an overseas trip to Greenland to play for the US troops through Armed Forces Entertainment. In 2010, the band moved back to their hometown area of St. Louis after parting ways with the record label. Shortly thereafter in 2011 they caught the attention of platinum-selling producer Noel Golden (Whitesnake, Edwin McCain, Matchbox 20) and traveled to Greenville SC to record new tracks with Noel. They added the new music to another full-length CD called “The Greatest Hits That Aren’t Hits Yet”. The band continued to play huge shows and had several songs getting lots of airplay across the US: “Let’s Meet Again”, “Snowballs in LA”, “Walk in Like DeNiro”, “Disappear”, & “Better Again”. In 2012, OTL made their live TV debut on NBC and CBS affiliates in their hometown of St. Louis. OTL has established themselves as one of the top acts in St. Louis and continues to do the same in every city they bring their live show to. OTL has licensed their music to several TV shows, they have tons of press including a feature in Radio & Records trade magazine, they’ve shot several music videos, and many bands have admitted it’s tough following an OTL show. After taking a bit of a break in 2014, OTL has been writing new material, playing acoustic shows, and OTL has launched Riot Radio, an online radio station based in Maryville IL. After performing as an opener for the well-known St. Louis band The Urge on Oct. 16, 2016 as part of the Rock n’ Roll Marathon Series, On Tracy Lane is officially back. Are YOU on Tracy Lane?
