Freddie Way Biography

There is no denying that Freddie Way has country music embedded in his soul. Born and raised in the mountains of Northeast Georgia, Freddie has been filling rooms with his big country voice since he was a young man. From the first time Freddie stepped foot on stage he has wowed audiences with his limitless talent and charisma, and he received a standing ovation after flooring an audience at his first live performance-A small time talent show, where he proved to be larger than life. Since then, Freddie’s voice has taken him further than he could have ever imagined, and he’s received national acclaim as his hit song “You’re All I Need” nears two million plays on Myspace. Those numbers mean everything to Freddie, and fame or wealth have nothing to do with it, instead, he takes gratification from knowing that so many people feel a connection to the raw and honest ballad. The success that Freddie has found is attributed to his natural ability to deliver a musical and lyrical experience that is relatable and heartfelt. “I'm a belter that sings from the heart and I believe music is something you should feel as well as hear, and when a person hears one of my songs, I hope they go away feeling some sort of emotion”. Freddie’s knack for creating songs that are true to the heart has propelled him from being an eighteen year old talent show winner, to a rising star in the country music scene. The growing popularity of Freddie’s music has presented him with many amazing opportunities, but Freddie never forgets where he came from. His southern roots hold true no matter what, and before Freddie is a musician or singer, he is a true gentleman, who puts his family and friends above all else. Freddie Way is an everyday kind of guy at heart, and that’s what allows him to deliver such a potent slice of life in every lyric he writes. Whether the song is about love or heartbreak, good times or bad, Freddie seems to capture a wide arrangement of emotions with ease. It’s proof of his depth as a songwriter to take someone on a ten song journey with ups and downs that mirror the chaos and beauty of life. Recently, Freddie has been writing songs continuously and after compiling a full albums worth of new material, Freddie decided that it was time to hit the studio again. With this album, Freddie says he’s boasting a more mature and finely tuned sound in the newly written songs, "I believe there's a point in an artist’s musical career where you find yourself vocally and in songwriting. I have been gearing myself towards that - honing in on what makes me...me”. Keeping that in mind, it’s very fitting that the new album is titled, Who I Am. In order to ensure excellence on his first major full length production, Freddie has been working with several hit songwriters out of Nashville and writing some of the finest sounds country music has to offer. With so much talent behind the writing process, it was very important that Freddie record with some of the biggest and most profound producers and engineers in country music. That’s why Freddie went to Nashville to record with John McBride at his world renowned recording studio, Blackbird Studios, with hit producer, Buddy Cannon, behind the board. McBride has worked on all of country super star, Martina McBride’s albums and Cannon has produced all of country mega star, Kenny Chesney’s albums. Recording Freddie Way’s new album, Who I Am, hasn’t just been business as usual at Blackbird Studios, both McBride and Cannon are very enthusiastic about Freddie and the final cuts for Who I Am. McBride has said, “Freddie Way is a gifted singer and songwriter... I expect him to go very far!” and Cannon claimed that, “Freddie Way is a real singer whose voice and musical attitude are a blend of southern rock, hard core working man's country, and a slight hue of bluegrass soul all mixed into one. He's a great singer, and you can't sit still when he turns it on, and he turns it on every time he sings.” Freddie has also been working with producer, Kent Wells, of Nashville who is responsible for producing the legendary Dolly Parton. With so much of Freddie’s heart poured into Who I Am, combined with the caliber of talent and expertise devoted to completing the album, there is no question that Who I Am will have country fans begging for more of Freddie Way. Undoubtedly, Freddie Way’s future in the music industry looks brighter than ever. With a new band, and his highly anticipated album, Who I Am, soon to be released, Freddie is closer than ever to fulfilling his dreams of sharing his music with the world. So, brace yourselves country music fans, because Freddie Way is destined to take the industry by storm.
