Nicky Mei

Based on south of England, it was at age 11 that Nicky Mei started to get interested in deejaying. His first attempt in this area was at home with his mom's Crown turntable, which got very damaged after his initial experiences, having passed through a bar of the neighborhood he lived in back then. However, since then and till early 2000's Nicky Mei, moved by curiosity and love for house music became self-taught in this art, trying to learn and achieve something better through what he saw others do. In 1994 Nicky started something that is also another one of his life's passions: Radio. From 2000, he started producing, and created music regarding his personal life, his writing, influenced by his very eclectic musical taste, that can go from Bach to Nirvana. Between 2001 and 2004 he run his own club, with the singularity that he never assumed himself has a resident DJ there. After a long stage of refinement, in 2007, he edited, under another name and unlabeled and sold only through the internet, his first album: Broken Heart Sessions - Part I. From that album there were initially made 1000 copies which sold out in a week. In 2009, the second part of "Broken Heart Sessions" is launched, having sold significantly the same number of copies as the first part, also through the internet. In 2011 he goes back to the radio, with the East Pole Radio Show, show that helped him launch even more more new and exclusive tracks to the fans. So, in 2011 and after an almost 3 year break Nicky Mei was back, both as a DJ and producer, with a sound oriented to the public, with the goal to show them a little more than the standard radios have usually offer them. As a result is his hits Nailed Hit has been a steady presence in the setlists of many international DJs and also on the radios and charts, Destiny, with Ryzus and the lovely vocals from Rachel Reed and Time with Cozta. He also produces some tech house tracks. One of them was released on Nueva Digital, one of worlds best tech house labels. In March 2013, he started with his own label, named East Pole Records and quickly became a reference on international dance scene. His singles TIME, DESTINY and NAILED IT had a massive support but it has been the last record that made his name come to the place that he deserve.
