Braeden Marshal Biography

Two generations of talent make up the tight, hard-rocking trio that is Braeden Marshal. With a refreshingly modern sound that has already been compared to industry titans such as U2, Coldplay, One Republic and The Killers this father-and-sons team of rockers have wasted no time in becoming a rising sensation on the West Coast. Award winning vocalist, songwriter and musician Joel Wiggers' catchy riffs and sincere vocals slide perfectly into the grooves of his musically-gifted sons, drummer Brayden, 19 and bassist Marshall, 21, who lay down the solid foundation for their eponymous band, creating a sound that is reminiscent of Soul Asylum. The energy that radiates from the brothers – Marshall's smooth, melodic,“in-the-pocket” bass-lines and hard-hitting natural percussionist Brayden's fluid dynamics – show skill that goes beyond their years, consequent of being born and raised in a rich musical environment. Hard work and a fiery passion for music is evident in every one of their tracks. The resulting authentic, down-to-earth sound has consistently wowed their audiences at concerts and has left music industry professionals deeply impressed.  “Their songs are deceptively simple, but powerful, anthem-like… all of us in our band stood in admiration at the groove - in disbelief that the rhythm section are so young. The band deserves success in this crowded, hard to reach world.” Al Harlow - PRISM “Braeden Marshal is absolutely miraculous... these guys know how to "ROCK IT UP"... be AMAZED by what they sonically have to offer!” Bonita Patoine Rock Ur review, Regina “WOW! That's the shortest way I can sum up what I thought after listening to "Breaking". And now just 60 seconds into "Don't Cry" I'm again thoroughly impressed. Great stuff, Ryan Mennie - CKLR-FM 97.3 THE EAGLE “Braeden Marshal is a hard working band that rocks... they have the work ethic and talent which is essential for success in the music business.” Rob Warwick, Rock.it.boy Entertainment Catchy melodies, great riffs and fantastic vocals.... Braeden Marshal are the missing link on your playlist between Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons. Mike lang music director 106.9fm the Wolf " if its not good music, we won't play it on the Fox, and this band is great, Braeden Marshal fits right in."  - Todd Hancock, 99.3 The Fox       The sensational Father/Sons rock trio Braeden Marshal's tight sound has proven to be the key to landing the band on big stages with artists such as… Victoria Duffield, Alyssa Reid, Gord Bamfield, Chad Brownlee, Headpins, Prism, Daniel Wesley, Faber Drive, Neverest, Glass Tiger and State of Shock to name a few.  Braeden Marshal  has worked tirelessly to achieve a place in the music industry with excellence at the very core of everything they do, " if we were to invite you for dinner, we would want to honour you with the best meal we could prepare, after all you are dear to us and we want you to feel like you are family and you are at home" - Joel Wiggers.  Having said that, the band credits their achievements to their family, friends and community for their dedicated support... the bands self produced viral video for their debut single "Breaking" enlisted the help of friends, family, fans and community to shoot the video...  all the extras, the cars, make-up, lighting, wardrobe, as well as the elementary school ( Mountain View Elementary) and high school (NDSS) the sons attended were generously supplied by all those that support the band,  everything was shot in the bands home town of Nanaimo, British Columbia.  Currently the band is working on new material tweaking their craft and sound with producer Jeff Dawson. Jeff is a Vancouver based producer, songwriter, engineer and mixer. He is best known for developing and producing the debut self titled album of Daniel Powter which contained the hit single “Bad Day”.  Braeden Marshal had the incredible luxury of recording their latest offerings "Love come home", "Be your hero" and "Matter of time" at the renowned Warehouse Studios in beautiful Vancouver BC. All three songs were masterfully produced by Jeff Dawson and mixed by the one and only Mike Fraser, a name synonymous with chart topping hits.  "It has been an amazing musical journey, and now to be writing on the piano without the confines of an electric guitar and amp cranked to 11, its like my heart comes out a little clearer, more honest and without boundaries, I love rock music but I am learning to embrace my roots as an artist, paying more attention to the art form of writing good music, than sort of writing for the "Genre". - Joel Wiggers. It has been a dream come true for the band to work with such highly respected professionals and with brand new song's to be released, an army of dedicated fans and the belief that anything is possible if you have a little faith and a lot of hard work... The future is bright!!!
