Cover of Afternoon

Fully formed in July, 2011. Cover of Afternoon began writing songs together in early August. The foundation of the band started earlier, as Alex and Allen played as an acoustic duo using the same moniker Cover of Afternoon. Alex and Allen made it to the finals of the New Brookland Tavern Acoustic Rock Challenge, and qualified to perform at the Ale House Battle of the Bands. Reid Mewborne completed the group. Continuing their evolution, CoA developed a heavier, and darker sound with the introduction of electric guitars with some crunch. Their first EP, Cover of Afternoon, released with very positive results. CoA won Rock 93.5's Acoustic Challenge in 2013, won the 2013 MusicLiveWire song of the year, and have been nominated for a South Carolina Music Award for best rock group.
