The Alchemyst (Band) Biography
Guitarists Kenny Daniels and Mike Simmons (ex-Fury, The Foreword/First Ahead Falls Behind) met up with Drummer Wil Best (ex-Eyes Of Glory/Pope Literature) in the summer of 2009. Together with vocalist Ry Liddy and bassist James "Buddah" Andrews, they created what became know to the local scene as The Emerson Myth. After roughly a year-and-a-half playing shows in and around the area and recording a demo in Nashville, TN with Ryan Swinehart (In-House Engineer for The Last Bison), situations led to Buddah and Ry leaving the band. Kenny, Mike, and Wil pressed on to writing new material in a totally different direction; musicians with only one goal, Play Metal!!! After several auditions for a new vocalist, Kenny stumbled upon new vocalist: Cody Ross. They kept the writing process going and eventually found bassist Jon Peirson (ex-Possessor) who was the missing piece in the puzzle. Together, they went on to be called: The Alchemyst. Twisting and contorting metal with blues, pop-punk, hardcore, and even death metal, The Alchemyst takes their name from the very different influences each member has that work together to create something new and unique; with wildly entertaining live shows, a total admiration for their fans, and some of the most creative metal music the seven cities (and the world) has ever heard! Their attitude is try everything, it must be tried before it is discounted. As long as it sounds metal, it is The Alchemyst. Debut EP "Double Tap" Out now! https://thealchemyst.bandcamp.com
