LaMuff Biography
LaMuff's vocal-driven songs range in sound from electronic synth-pop to chamber post-rock to hip-hop. Her live shows are as visual as they are aural—complete with wigs, costumes, and prop-wielding backup singers. The artist behind LaMuff is Los Angeles-based Monica Howe, a studied vocalist whose versatile style has been compared to chanteuses from Keely Smith to Patti Smith. Howe’s influences include vintage Hollywood musicals and big band crooners, '80s rap and new wave, and millennial bleeps and bloops. LaMuff released her first single and video, “Come on, Taste my Rainbow,” in 2011. The four-song EP 'Gold Lamé' and a music video for the title track followed in 2012. A new EP titled 'Get Into the Glitter' is expected in summer 2014. Indie electropop diva
