MIX MASTERSON (Honolulu, HI) Mix Masterson is an award winning performance DJ, remixer and mix master of dance music focused on creating and controlling the vibe & energy of his audience. Mix Masterson born Caleb Masterson discovered his love for dance music during his childhood finding his calling in Honolulu Hawaii playing local house parties and bars. After spending years mastering vinyl, beat matching, cdjs and studying music from the best artist from around the world he took his experience to Birmingham Alabama after his family was transferred there by The Coast Guard. He quickly became the top DJ of the city where in 2005 he won the Battle Of The Beats at the popular club The Station and he was awarded Birminghams #1 House and Trance DJ title. Following that he went on to perform in Atlanta Georgia at places such as Burning Women, Cyber Raver and Spring Forth. Throughout the year of 2010 Masterson traveled to northern cities such as Harrisburg and New York playing fraternity and sorority parties to spread the love of EDM even further. His music and mixes began flowing throughout Boston radio stations, becoming more frequently requested as the days went on. Mix Masterson settled in Columbia SC in 2011 for a job he was offered by Michelin North America but his heart never swayed from his dance music roots. That year Masterson entered a DJ competition hosted by Lucky's In Five Points in Columbia and won. After that he started to get noticed by other local bars and clubs for filling venues to maximum capacity and he quickly caught on as the number one booked DJ of the City. Masterson gradually pushed Electronic Dance Music onto the unknowing locals by infusing top 40 and hip hop lyrics into his tracks easing them into EDM paving the way for many DJs in Columbia to freely express themselves with Electronic Dance Music today. Mix Masterson also played a big role in the Electronic Dance Music community in Columbia South Carolina by contributing to the new EDM breakthrough club Social's success by having the first ever successful after party immediately following a Bassnectar concert where he filled the Social venue full of ravers for the first time on a Wednesday night. Masterson also hosted the first Paint Party Rave, the Masters Ciroc After Party during the most prestigious golf tournament in the world the Augusta Nationals, opened for the Manufactured Superstars and headlined the REVOLT RAVE tour sponsored by Diddy's company Revolt TV and Ciroc vodka where he met drummer Corey Holden and singer songwriter Matt Morgan. The trio linked up and became a full band offering another dimension to Masterson's live sets. Masterson began hosting high production events through his personal company branded Mix Master Studios where he helped over 100 artist from the Carolinas get stage time. In 2014, after Masterson felt he had accomplished everything he has set his mind to in the Columbia/Augusta area he relocated to Jacksonville FL and entered an international dj competition hosted by The Groove Cruise, the original, largest and most successful Floating Electronic Dance Music Festival. To no prevail Masterson placed 3rd out of the 200+ entry international DJ competition realizing they were looking for more of a house set then his unique entry of progressive house/trance builds with electro drops he entered. The blow was softened when Masterson was subsequently asked by the Groove Cruise to come perform after all, stating that they enjoyed his style and the mix he entered. Mix Masterson was given the great honor of opening for legends Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Darude and George Acosta. Although he performed on the main stage he received his highest reviews from a more intimate casino set he played later that night where he presented his original style of high energy peak hour trance. San Francisco and Los Angeles media site Rabbits Black quoted in their Groove Cruise review "That did not just happen. Mix Masterson stops is in our tracks We were literally walking through the Casino on our way to another stage when we got stuck in his web of deep trance vibes. Two hours later, we forgot where we were supposed to be going and ended up gambling away a few hundred dollars – well worth it though.. " they added that they were sucked in by his amazing energy which is a true testament to the control over the vibe Masterson has. Masterson continues to host the Lucky's Bass Stage, during the well known yearly 40,000+ people Saint Pats Festival in SC where he is on his 4th consecutive year of featuring a full lineup of local and regional talent.
