JMB Biography

Jade Martin Band or ‘JMB’ are a 5-piece band hailing from Cobar in western NSW. Formally a duo, singer/guitarist Jade Martin enlisted bassist Mark Kotynia, guitarist Jesse Cartner and drummer Gavin O’Donnell in 2012 to bolster JMB’s sound and elevate them into the live music scene. Influenced by artists such as Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, John Farnham and Darius Rucker, JMB cover a vast range of music from Chris Young to Brad Paisley, Noise Works to Van Halen. After entertaining the local scene for many years, JMB have taken their act on the road. As a duo, Jade Martin was accompanied by Jade Buckman and released a self-titled EP in September 2012. They also released a music video for their song “So Much Hurt”. Following from the 2012 effort, in 2014 a new EP titled ‘Show Me How to Party’ was created, being entirely recorded and mixed by Jade himself. The EP included 2 new songs, 'Nothing I Want More' and 'Show Me How to Party' (written with the help of Harry Nanos and Gavin O’Donnell) and 2 songs from the 2012 EP were re-recorded and given a more modern country sound. The ‘Show Me How to Party’ EP was released in line with the 2015 Elmore BNS Ball, and was used in the advertising and promotional material for the event. The film clip for ‘Show Me How to Party’ was also released on the Country Music Channel in February 2015. Since playing at the ’15 Elmore BNS Ball the Jade Martin Band have become a sort after act, gaining support positions for bands such as The Wolfe Brothers, Mental As Anything, Pseudo Echo and Diesel. At the 2016 Tamworth Country Music Festival many marked JMB as the ‘must see’ band of the festival. JMB guitarist and vocalist Kahlia Martin also graduated from the CMAA Academy of Country Music in 2016, where she gained a wealth of skills and knowledge from industry veteran’s including Catherine Britt, Lyn Bowtell, Roger Corbett, Simon Johnson and Kevin Bennett.
