Torque Order Biography

Torque Order History & Bio 2001: Torque Order front man, LoZ, disbands his other projects (3.0 and Judean Radiostatic) to focus on cultivating a new and more aggressive style to better convey his disappointment with the status quo of post-90’s politics and music. Though debuting as an experimental solo act, Torque Order quickly gains traction in the Denver, Colorado music scene due to LoZ’s extensive background in music and video production and contacts made through years of working as stagehand and crew for several well-known industrial groups. 2003: LoZ relocates to Austin, Texas for work. Though he continues to work on new music in his spare time, live performances for Torque Order are placed on hold indefinitely due to the ever-increasing demands of his career. 2011: LoZ and Josef Pfost are introduced to each other and discuss their mutual distaste for the overly processed, repetitive pop music dominating the air waves. LoZ shares some of the tracks he’s been working on and Josef reveals his guitar skills. They immediately begin collaborating on both new and old tracks, and decide that it’s time to resurge the Torque Order project. Drummer, Dave Morales, was briefly added to the line-up but soon relocated for work. Synthesized beats are added to the backtracks, but they realize that a live show demands a more solid and tangible wall of sound. After auditioning several drummers to help with this challenge, they meet Jaye Leigh Vincent and add her to the line-up for live percussion. Though inexperienced, her fresh approach and spot-on timing adds the missing ingredient, and Torque Order begins booking shows. 2012 - 2013: Torque Order plays regular bar/club shows throughout Austin (Elysium, Red Eyed Fly, Headhunters, Infest, Red7, Beale Street Tavern, The Badlands, Beerland, Dirty Dog Bar, etc.) and San Antonio (Fitzgeralds, Bonds 007). They polish their stage performance, build a local network with other bands in the scene, and develop a rabid local fan-base of supporters. They begin playing festivals as well, including Convergence, South By Southwest, Texas Industrial Fest, ZombieCon, etc. They open for multiple big-name acts such as Combichrist, Decoded Feedback, En Esch, Cocksure, CHANT, Larva, Cyclic Vendetta, Interface, Subnatural, Cynergy 67, Provision, and Kuza. 2014: Torque Order releases their debut album, Trust No One, and begins to stretch out into surrounding Texas cities (San Marcos, Dallas, Harlingen, etc.) while continuing to play local shows and festivals. 2015: Torque Order reinvests the profits of album sales and merch into their stage show, adding lighting and projection improvements to their headlining shows. The band starts working on new material for the next album. 2016: Guitarist Josef Pfost departs the band for personal reasons. Now a streamlined duo, LoZ and Jaye look to the future and plan a single+remix and video release ahead of a regional tour and possible incursion into major US cities and even overseas. 2016: Joe Zalo joins the band on Guitar! Torque Order is an Electronic Hard-Rock /Industrial band bent on liberating the world from bland music and political disillusionment.
